Try searching for Ever Langlais online and you will be surprised at how many books she has already written about so many different types of creatures. My comfort zone, though, is with Lycans and werewolves. Defying Pack Law by Eve Langlais is the book that introduced me to her world and will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Imagine a society where the males outnumber the females and polyamory is the norm rather than a “deviant relationship”. Whether the female likes it or not, she is forced to mate with more than one male. Our girl, Dana, was in love with Nathan who from the beginning knew how she felt about polyamory. Initially, he agreed to be her only mate but when push comes to shove, he felt bound to follow the dictates of the elders and would end up betraying her.
In her horror and outrage, Dana leaves and goes into hiding for many years. Nathan, now the Alpha, finds her and truly regrets what he did. Now he is more than ready to be her only mate. Unfortunately, news flash, Dana now says she wants many mates and points at his friends, John and Kody, to be her other two mates.
It’s messed up! Does she really want them as her mates or is her goal just to hurt Nathan?
What I like about this story is that we, the readers, are given an up close and personal peep into how Nathan, John, and Kody feel, too. We know how all three are quite attracted to Dana. We know that Nathan does not want to share. And we know his guilt over the years. At the same time, we see how Dana’s feelings change from resentment and rebellion to actually wanting to be with all of them.
Seriously, though, I think what I like about this book is that Dana is in control of where the relationship would go. In most stories, women do not always have that control.
And this book is just the beginning! There are four books in the series. Thankfully, Defying Pack Law by Eve Langlais is a standalone story so we won’t be left hanging at the end. If this book interests you, you can find it on Goodnovel and at Amazon. My personal preference is Amazon where you can get the book in several formats.

Rachel LeFevre is who I visualize as the female lead character, Emily, as I read Fated: Lycan King’s Unwanted Bride by Cool Grey, hence my using her picture here. I stumbled upon this story a while back and just added it to my library and only started reading it today. While the preview was interesting I was initially turned off by the grammar. I finally decided to give it a shot today and while the grammar is not the best, it is forgivable because the story is pretty good.
This is the first time I’ve read a story where the lycan spirit can fully take over the human that the human has no knowledge of anything that happened. It is also the first time I’ve encountered a character whose human and lycan do not both feel the mate bond for their mate.
Alpha Lucian is our male lead character and he is a widower and has no plans of remarrying. However, being the Alpha of the primordial lycans means that his pack needs a Luna … at least according to his parents and the elders. Lucian was deadset against remarrying, especially to the female lycan his parents chose, when he inadvertently meets Emily, a wolfless rogue who trespassed into their land.
At first sight, his lycan, Argus, recognized her as his second-chance mate but Lucian felt nothing. He is still heartbroken from losing his mate to a fatal illness many years ago.
Interesting yet? I’m glad I gave it a shot because it really is! I only wish that Emily would stop crying so much, seriously.
I strongly suspect that the author is Filipino and used a translator then went back and did manual edits because there are some turns of phrase that don’t make sense in English but when translated to Tagalog, suddenly do. There is also that problem with pronouns and inconsistency with gender assignment.
The story is still ongoing! You can read Fated: Lycan King’s Unwanted Bride by Cool Grey on the Goodnovel app. I believe it may be on other reading apps as well, but Goodnovel is where I found it.

We encountered John for the first time in Alpha Logan when Logan calls him to give some instructions. He appears several times after which made me quite curious about this very formal Beta. Beta’s Surprise Mate by Bryant now focuses on him as he finds his mate in the most unlikely of situations. When running an errand for Logan and Aurelia, John inadvertently finds his mate when he visits the florist who will be handling all the floral decorations for their wedding.
First of all, she is human … which is unusual enough as it is. Werewolf-human matings are uncommon but possible. Second, she is a (former) hunter, which makes her a danger to the pack, whether or not she’s retired. Third, she has a fierce guardian cat, an Egyptian Mau called Shu. But John believes in the mate bond and trusts the Moon Goddess but even he had to take a step back and wonder why he was given a human mate. Despite his desire to stay away, his wolf would not let him do so.
Things to note … John is over 30 and a virgin by choice. Unlike many of his peers, he chose to save himself for his mate. Despite this, though, he certainly had the skills to please his mate. Sarael quit being a hunter a long time ago when she realized that her sister was doing things that she just couldn’t stomach.

Beta’s Surprise Mate by Bryant is HOT! Don’t be deceived by John’s inexperience … he has the equipment and knows how to use it. I even found myself jealous of Sarael and wished he was my mate instead, hyuk! Their lives get complicated by rogues and hunters who suddenly show up in their lives, especially when one of the hunters is Sarael’s evil sister.
I don’t want to reveal too much but trust me when I say you will WANT to read this book. You can find Beta’s Surprise Mate with the bonus Valentine chapters at the end on Goodnovel. If you want to read the paperback, you can find it on Amazon. I’m hoping it comes out on Amazon Kindle as well.

The love lives of celebrities are always titillating news for fans everywhere. Never More Than Enemies by Veronica Adler is a story about two actors who fall in love. Madelaine was cast as the lead female character in the West End play written by her grandmother many years ago called Betrayal. Unbeknownst to her, the director was replaced at the last minute by her nemesis, Gabriel, who also plays opposite her in the play. Gabriel’s father was the director of Betrayal the first time it ran on the West End many years ago.
Madelaine and Jack, Gabriel’s younger brother, are best friends. Gabriel’s animosity towards Madelaine stems from the fact that he thinks she is a bad influence on him and is likely to put Jack’s life in danger. She can’t really blame him as she did have episodes with recreational drugs, alcohol, and driving fast cars in the past, and Jack just went along with everything.
This story is a slow burn. 25 chapters in and they are still fighting but we can see that it is partially because of their struggle in resisting each other. When they finally reluctantly acknowledge that they have feelings for each other, the next challenge is keeping it a secret from everyone else.
Their romance is titillating but if you are not a fan of the slow burn, this might frustrate you. I, for one, enjoyed it because I found it interesting that once they acknowledged how they felt for each other, they worked just as hard to defend and take care of each other secretly. Thankfully, the secret was not from their family and friends, only from the rest of the world.
If you want to check out Never More Than Enemies by Veronica Adler you can find it on Amazon for $3.99 or free with Kindle Unlimited.

When I open a book or a reading app and I find myself excited for the new chapter, that is how I know that a story is good. This is how I feel every time I open The Omega’s Triplet Hybrids by Saree Bee on Goodnovel. I already told you all what a blast I had with Omega’s Twin Hybrids a while back. This sequel to that story has upped the ante.
Daphne’s life before finding the Skynest and going to the island was as depressing as I could imagine, without being physically tortured and imprisoned. She loses her job, her sister dies from an overdose, and she gets evicted from her apartment … how much worse could it get? Oh, yes! She has to live on the streets now as she has nowhere to go.
Tearful and hopeless, she is approached by a stranger and offered a card with an address to a shelter called Skynest. Little did she know that she was an Omega and was destined to be mated to a shifter or three!
Christian, Vance, and Liam are triplets and princes … next in line for the throne once they are mated and have children. We met Liam in Omega’s Twin Hybrid as the annoying black dragon that gave Jack a hard time. Christian’s animal is a wolf, while Vance’s is a tiger. These brothers are close and from a young age, they agreed that they will only have one mate together. This also means that they will rule, together, as three kings.
Poor Daphne! She is unlike any Omega that has come before. No one told her what to expect so she was probably the first omega ever to want to go back to the city and not get mated. Imagine her shock to discover that upon landing on the island they (the Omegas) were going to be hunted like prey by all the single men on the island looking for a mate. And the chase begins!
Which brings us back to the triplets … how is that going to work? And considering how much she wants to go back to New York, is there any way they can convince her to stay? Will she learn to love all three?
I kid you not, The Omega’s Triplet Hybrids by Saree Bee is fun to read. I’m currently reading it on Goodnovel so you can check it out as well. What will these boys do next to win Daphne over?
