One Fab Pooch, A Review

One Fab Pooch, A Review

Anyone who follows my personal account would know that when it comes to pictures I post I usually only have 3 subjects:  food, my grandchild Star, and my furbaby Princess.  This post is about the latter.

Princess is one pampered pooch.

Princess, Lhasa Apso

Princess, Lhasa Apso

She drinks pet milk every morning and eats dog food at night.  She goes on walks almost every day either with me or my mom.

Princess is a 7-year-old Lhasa Apso.  The Lhasa Apso is often confused with the Shih Tzu as they look very similar. This is not unusual, really, as the Shih Tzu was supposedly bred from the mating of a Lhasa Apso and a Pekingese.

Because Princess is of the long-haired variety of dogs taking care of her hair can be challenging.  Part of our daily routine is brushing several times a day which both my mom and I do with her.  Because her hair tends to get tangled she often does not have the patience to sit through the entire process.

summer cut

Whut?

During the summer we often have her hair cut really short (not shaved) so that she does not suffer from the heat and we don’t have to worry about brushing her so often.

This is important because in the summer she tends to jump into the tub filled with water to cool off and, that makes her daily grooming difficult.

Once a month I take her to the groomer for a bath, haircut, nail trimming, and ear cleaning.  3 out of those 4 I cannot do for her so I leave it to the professionals.  For many years I have gone to three pet grooming places (in the area) on rotation and in each one Princess would react adversely even before we went in.  I thought this weird because she loves bath time but chalked it up to an instinctive reaction.

One Fab Pooch

And then one day I saw this pet grooming salon at the corner of Scout Tobias and Gandia Streets in Quezon City.  I’ve passed it many times and didn’t stop because they don’t have parking and their frontage (which is on Scout Tobias) is a Mabuhay Lane so I really couldn’t park without risking getting towed.

One Fab Pooch QC Reception Area photo was taken from a Google Maps contribution

Today, though, I woke up and decided that I was going to bring Princess to One Fab Pooch.  I was just curious enough to try their service finally.

As we walked into the reception area, I noticed that Princess was calm.  This was a first.  I don’t know what it is but seeing her reaction put me at ease.  The reception area is roomy enough and everything is white.  I put Princess on that little ledge and she just sat down, weird.  I put her on the floor to explore, and she walked around and then just sat by my feet, doubly weird.  When one of the groomers came out to pick her up and to ask for my specifications she allowed him to carry her and even raised all four paws in that funny way and was just … chill, triple weird!  But I went with it and was happy.

Princess’s journey from fuzzy to fab!

I waited at McDonald’s down the street and their receptionist, Monica sent me updates via Viber.  Here is Princess’s fab experience.

nail trimmingTrimming her nails. It’s been three months since her last grooming so they’re pretty long.

Here they are trimming the fur on her feet.  Good thing, too, as she sometimes slips when she steps on her fur.

bath time

Time to take a bath! Princess loves taking baths.

Blowdrying time.  In the past, she HATED this part.  I think it is the sound she hates.  Most blowers are really loud.  Theirs seems to be fairly quiet.  Look at her cuddling her groomer, how sweet!

fully groomed

Look at her now, fully groomed … and with teal ribbons on her hair! Awwww, cuteness!  She is definitely One Fab Pooch!

3-minute massage time.  Look at her, so zen!

If you think the service is probably expensive, let me show you their rates. They are as follows.  Note:  all rates are in Philippine peso.

Personally, I found their rates reasonable but others may find it steep, especially if they recommend additional stuff like severe detangling if your furbaby’s fur is very matted. To sweeten the deal, though, they also offer discounts via the VIPooch card.

VIpooch

The VIPooch card gives us furparents (and fur-guardians) discounts on all goods and services purchased from One Fab Pooch.

  • 5% discounts are the standard
  • A 15% discount is given on our furbabies’ birth month

That is reasonable enough for me.  Note:  VIPooch number is hidden but it is right there in the lower left-hand corner.

Before, Princess already looked beautiful. After, even more so. <3<3<3 We are trying to grow her hair out.

One satisfied customer

I am definitely one satisfied customer.  If Princess is happy then I am happy, too.  If I had to guess, part of the reason she liked it there is the air conditioning.  The reception area, for one, was cool and comfortable.  Another was the place didn’t smell of anything.  Most other pet groomers I have gone to have an antiseptic smell that Princess just hates.

And as we were leaving Monica says, “bye Ma’am, bye Princess, have a fabulous day!”

Satisfaction rating? 5 stars!!!

If I had one suggestion to make … maybe they should have a coffee shop right beside them exclusively for furparents (with power outlets and wifi) so that furparents can wait in comfort nearby and work (or not!) at the same time.

Next month, same time, same place. 🙂

Colgate and Palmolive: Household Names of the Filipino Family

Colgate and Palmolive: Household Names of the Filipino Family

Growing up, I often heard the brand names Colgate and Palmolive mentioned at the grocery store and the sari-sari store whenever people purchased toiletries like soap, shampoo, or toothpaste. These brands have become such shopping staples that their names have evolved into common references for these products.

colgate-palmolive philippines logo

The Evolution of Colgate

The word “Colgate” originally referred to the proper noun of the toothpaste brand Colgate. Over time, people began using “Colgate” as a generic term to refer to any brand of toothpaste. Eventually, it evolved into a verb. For instance, mothers and caregivers would ask children, “Nag-Colgate ka na ba?” to find out if they had already brushed their teeth.

Asin, as in!

Colgate has evolved from offering just one type of toothpaste to a wide variety, and the latest addition is Colgate Active Salt.

When I first learned about this new product, I immediately thought of the medicinal qualities of salt and wondered why Colgate had chosen to introduce this innovation. It also made me reflect on Colgate’s commitment to the Filipino community to “deliver superior oral care.”

According to Mr. Danai Sirisuvun, Senior Product Manager of Colgate-Palmolive Philippines, “Filipinos have a strong affinity for the traditional benefits of salt in oral care. Colgate Active Salt combines this natural ingredient with Colgate’s trusted formula. It is a unique and effective toothpaste that is perfect for the whole family, promoting healthy gums and strong teeth with regular brushing.”

Before this variant became available, I was using the toothpaste with activated charcoal. Now, I’m excited to try the Active Salt version and see how well it performs.

Our little Star loves Mamypoko pants for girls

Our little Star loves Mamypoko pants for girls

I’ve seen Mamypoko Diapers in the grocery for some time but I’ve always ignored it in favor of the more popular brands or the less expensive brands. Like most consumers I often choose products based on price and reputation.

Estelle the Little StarWhen Star was a baby it wasn’t that big a deal, but as she got older like most toddlers she started to become precocious and naughty.  Whenever possible she would peel off the tape of her diapers and take it off laughing.

She also needed diapers less.  For some time now the only time we would put a diaper on her is when she goes to bed (to sleep) and when we go out. This made us wonder why she kept trying to take her diaper off (considering she didn’t wear them so often anymore) and we realized it was because it was causing a diaper rash which was either itchy or painful.  Poor baby!

For some time we stopped putting her in diapers but it was difficult to manage, especially at night when she would wet her bed in her sleep.  So, despite our better judgement, we decided to try diapers again, if only for when she goes to bed.

So I went to the grocery and at a whim picked up a pack of Mamypoko Easy to Wear Pants.

I remember when my daughter was a baby they had something similar but they were called “pull-ups” because, I suppose, you just pulled them up like pants.

With Mamypoko Pants there was no tape to worry about.  Just wear them like you would underpants and, voila!  your baby is wearing a disposable diaper.  However, figuring out which way was front was a challenge.  To this day, I still have to hold them out and then pray that I don’t put it on her the wrong way.

Mamypoko Pants for Girls

During Lazada’s online revolution last year (2016) I discovered Mamypoko Pants for Girls.  Because I purchased it from Lazada it was so much cheaper than buying it from the grocery and I didn’t have to leave the house to get it.  Sure there is a little bit of a wait … I ordered in the morning and it arrived the day after.  But it also meant that I didn’t have to brave the traffic and the long lines at the grocery.

If all things were equal and I had to choose between the regular Mamypoko Pants and Mamypoko Pants for Girls I would definitely get the latter … even if it is pink (which is my least favorite color, hyuk!) because, let’s face it … it was designed specifically for a little girl. 🙂

Why will we keep buying Mamypoko Pants for Girls?

Star displaying the back of her Mamypoko Pants for Girls

Star displaying the back of her Mamypoko Pants for Girls

All the diaper commercials say mostly the same thing but this is the first time we’ve actually experienced using one that surpassed our expectations.

Eyecatching design

This batch of diapers came with a Winnie the Pooh design that our little Star just loves.  What we like, too, is that the design does not bleed even when the diaper is full.

As the name suggests Mamypoko Pants for Girls is designed for girls which is why it comes in pink, making it easier to spot on the grocery shelves when stacked beside other brands.

Easy to use

Mamypoko Pants for Girls back

Mamypoko Pants for Girls has a label that indicates front from back so there is no way (short of inattention) for us to put it on her backwards.

Mamypoko Pants for Girls are pull ups, not secured with tape on the sides, which means we just pull them up her legs like pants making them easy to put on and take off.

Taking them off like pants is important for us because Star is at that age where she is already potty trained so when she is awake she prefers to pee (and poop!) in the toilet rather than in her pants so, whenever possible, even if she is wearing her diaper, she asks to be brought to the toilet to pee.  With Mamypoko Pants for Girls we can just pull them down like her undies then pull them back on again when she’s done.

Mamypoko Pants for Girls sealing tape

sealing tape

What my daughter likes, though, is that the sides of the diaper can just be torn off along the seam when we want to dispose of the diaper when removing it.  This is particularly important when the diaper has poop in it.  We don’t want that mess touching Star’s legs on the way down, after all.

In addition, the diaper has a strip of clear tape with a tab that you peel off (except for the end) and then reattach to hold the diaper closed when you roll it up for disposal after use.  It is very well attached so it won’t come off accidentally.  And, the tab is designed in such a way that curious toddler fingers will not notice it immediately and pull on it. 😀

Hypoallergenic

Unlike one other brand we’ve tried, Mamypoko Pants for Girls does not cause an adverse reaction to Star’s skin.

Very absorbent

After several hours of wearing her diaper we were wondering why Star was not complaining yet about her diaper so we had to check.  Her diaper was so full that the absorbency gel was already thick, bulky, and cold on the outside … and because we were worried about diaper rash we hurriedly removed the diaper to wash her.  Imagine our surprise when we removed the diaper to find her and it completely dry.

The diaper was several times heavier (and thicker!) than it was at the beginning but when you touch the pad itself no moisture could be found.  When we touched Star’s bottom, it was dry, too.  Amazing!

Since this diaper was made especially for girls it meant that the diaper was designed to give the most absorbancy where it was needed most.  We loved it so much that we posted a review on the product on its product page.

Mamypoko product review

Conclusion

Mamypoko Pants for GirlsSo if you have a little girl like we do you may want to try out Mamypoko Pants for Girls.  It is one of the best purchases I made for Star, and I am sure you would feel the same once you try it, too. 🙂

Great finds for the family at Lazada

Great finds for the family at Lazada

The end of the online revolution draws near but there is still time to get some great finds that could finish up your Christmas list.  Here are a few that I spotted that I think you might enjoy, too. 🙂

Tuxun Mini Karaoke K068 Wireless Bluetooth Microphone with Mic Speaker (Gold)

Let’s admit it, Filipinos LOVE to sing … and Christmas parties (or any old party, for that matter) are just not complete without someone rocking the mic … preferably everyone. 😀

Now here is a common scenario … not enough mics to go around!  Guess what?  That is not a problem anymore if you have this baby … the Tuxun Mini Karaoke K068 Wireless Bluetooth Microphone. It comes in two (2) colors: gold and rose gold.  I loved it so much that I bought one of each! 😀

This is what the description says:

  • Built-in high-quality chipset, it produces excellent sound quality with reverberation (echo).
  • No need to aim at the microphone, it can capture your voice with a pickup hole (translation:  it is not unidirectional.  It can pick up sound from the top and sides).
  • the effect is much like KTV, you will feel liking being on the scene of karaoke.
  • It supports almost all singing software no matter on the phone or on the computer (translation: it is compatible with most karaoke apps, whether for your tablet, phone, or computer).
  • With a 3.5mm audio jack, it can connect with Android, iOS phone, etc. (translation: you can connect it to your Android or iOS device via an audio jack).
  • Wireless Connection: You can connect with your phone with cable or Bluetooth (translation:  you can connect either via wired (audio jack) or wireless (Bluetooth) connection).
  • You can practice singing, listen to music, and record songs without going to KTV (it is a wireless mic so, really, you can practice anywhere).

Package contents:

  • egg-like carrying case
  • 3.5mm audio jack cable
  • micro USB charging cable
  • manual

The manual that comes with the package is in Chinese (I believe) and I could not understand a word of it so I searched for an English manual online.  Click here to download the English manual.

My personal experience:

My nephew loves to invite friends over on the weekend to use my Major HD-10 Platinum Karaoke and we only have 1 (wired) mic. With the Tuxun Wireless Mic, I would sneak up on him and suddenly sing a duet. When he heard my voice magnified he was quite surprised because the sound came from behind him, not in front.

Karaoke K068 Wireless Bluetooth Microphone controlsTake a look at the Tuxun Mini Karaoke K068 Wireless Bluetooth Microphone and you will notice something immediately … it has an unusual shape for a mic.  As a matter of fact, the first time I saw it I thought it was a flashlight!  Turns out the wide base is actually the speaker.

  • The top switch-slide is the volume control.
  • The middle switch-slide is the echo control.
  • The bottom button is not only the power button, it is also the button you press for pairing the mic with your device via Bluetooth

Does it really pair with Karaoke software?

I’ll be honest with you … I have no idea.  I tried to use it with Smule but I couldn’t get it to work the way I wanted to.  But that does not mean it won’t work with others, it just means I haven’t tried it with others yet. 😀

Sanosan Products

For baby and for you.

Sanosan Lotion, Bath and Shampoo, and Oil

Sanosan Lotion, Bath and Shampoo, and Oil

bubu-and-meAnyone with children will tell you that babies have very sensitive skin.  This means that we cannot use just any old product on her.

We’ve tried several brands, from the brands available in the local groceries to products that arrive from relatives who send over balikbayan boxes.

Lately, though, we have tried some brands we have not heard of before until now, and one of those brands is Sanosan.  I must confess, though, that we do not believe in using lotion and oil on a baby’s skin … mostly because in most cases they do not really have any dry skin at that young age.

I used the Sanosan Baby Oil to remove my makeup and it works like a dream!  The Sanosan Baby lotion I set aside for use later when it turns cold and we start to experience dry skin … yes, Bubu included.

Sanosan Baby Shampoo

Sanosan Baby shampoo has a mild scent and is very gentle on our Bubu’s delicate skin.  It is a clear, colorless liquid that froths easily so we do not need to use much to get scalp and hair clean.

  • Includes beneficial ingredients such as olive extract and lactoprotein
  • Conditions the scalp
  • Prevents dryness
  • Clinically approved
  • Colorant free
  • Sanosan baby shampoo does not contain surfactants that impair the natural protective function of the eye

It comes in an attractive powder blue container designed with slip-proof grips on the side making it easier to hang on to the bottle even with wet hands.

Sanosan gives the baby the best possible care.  It uses olive oil and hydrolyzed milk protein which are natural ingredients that provide optimum care, cleansing, and protection that nourishes your baby’s skin better.

All Sanosan products are hypoallergenic and free from parabens and dyes. Pamper yourself and your little sweetheart with Sanosan on a regular basis and experience the daily delights of unique, natural, and gentle care.

For most of the day, our feet are trapped in shoes.  For some of us, we spend most of our time on our feet.  Our feet just go through so much punishment!  Consequently, we find, later that our feet are covered in calluses and dry skin.

I am lucky enough that my feet are not in such bad shape but sometimes I would be surprised to find my heels snagging on my blanket and I realize that it is time for another foot spa.

Having a foot spa, when done often could turn out expensive so here is (what I think) is a better (more economical and more efficient) solution.  And using it is easy, too!  Watch this video below just to see how easy it is to use this product.

Veet Hair Removal Cream for Sensitive Skin

Veet Hair Removal Cream for Sensitive Skin

Veet Hair Removal Cream for Sensitive Skin

Most modern women (myself included) today worry about the unsightly hair growth in our armpits and other parts of the body (such as on the arms, legs, and face).  Most either pluck or shave.  One can be painful while the other causes the hair to grow back faster and thicker and tends to darken the skin.

The solutions we are often left with: laser treatment, threading, and waxing.  These solutions are not cheap.  So what solution is left?  Depilatory creams or lotions like Veet.

I have used Veet in the past and it is so easy to use that it is often my go-to product when I don’t have time (or money) to go to the waxing salon.

  1. Wash and clean the area you want to remove hair from.
  2. Pat dry so that the area is no longer wet.
  3. Squeeze some Veet on the spatula and smooth over the area you want to depilate.
  4. Let it stay for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Use the spatula to remove the product from your skin.  You will see the hairs come off with the cream.
  6. Use a soft sponge or washcloth to remove the cream if the spatula is too abrasive.  I like to wet the sponge or cloth with warm water first.
  7. If needed, you can leave the cream on longer before fully removing it. Do not exceed 6 minutes, as your skin will likely become irritated and produce a painful burning sensation.

The result?  Soft, smooth, hairless skin.  No-fuss, no mess, no worries!  Try it for yourself!  One tube goes a long way.  Depending on how many areas you want to depilate, one tube of Veet can last for several months.

  • Works close to the root even on short hair
  • Preparation: 5-10 minutes
  • Enriched with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E
  • Duration: smoothness for up to a week
  • Softer hair regrowth
  • Body Area: Legs, Bikini Line, Underarms, Arms
  • FREE: Travel-size Veet Hair Removal Cream

Precious VCO Goat’s Milk Soap (with oatmeal and tea tree oil)

Precious VCO Goat's Milk Soap

Precious VCO Goat’s Milk Soap (with oatmeal and tea tree oil)

A lot of the (beauty) soaps sold today are made overseas.  Precious VCO Goat’s Milk Soap is proudly Philippine-made.

I tried this soap immediately and I was surprised at how soft and smooth my skin was after one use.  I don’t know if it was the VCO or the goat’s milk that did it but I loved the effect.

According to the product page, this is what this product offers:

Anti-aging

By protecting you from free radicals that can damage skin, Virgin Coconut Oil helps to slow the aging process. The oil forms a barrier of defense on your skin, allowing you to absorb necessary nutrients while blocking the chemicals that can cause wrinkles.

Precious Mango Tango Massage Oil

Precious Mango Tango Massage Oil and Precious Blue Ginger Aroma Fragrance Mist

Precious Mango Tango Massage Oil and Precious Blue Ginger Aroma Fragrance Mist

My left shoulder to hand has been hurting like the dickens for days now.  when this happens I usually just ignore it but occasionally I call on Ashley, my favorite therapist from Asian Massage to massage me instead.

They often use mineral oil when they give a massage but they usually ask for their clients’ preference also. Sometimes I use lotion but other times I provide my own oil. On her next visit (probably later tonight!) I will try the Precious Mango Tango Massage Oil.  The mango scent is strong but not overpowering, which is good. I won’t smell like a fruit salad. D

  • precious massage oil
  • blend of essential oils
  • refreshing and relaxing
  • can bring emotional balance to the body

The Precious Blue Ginger Aroma Frangrance Mist will give the room that spa smell that will help me relax even more.  That’s one of the missing elements when I have a home service massage … the spa smell. :). The only thing missing would be a waterfall or chime music playing in the background.

It not only makes the air smell good it also acts as a deodorizer, eliminating bad smells in the air.

  • precious aroma fragrance mist
  • refreshing and relaxing
  • an elegant way of scenting environment
  • contain odor neutralizing compound

Precious All Natural Pain-Away Pad

If you have ever injured yourself or suffered from intense shoulder pain then you (like I) have used hot and cold compress pads.  I’ve used versions that had the metal “coin” you flip inside to activate the gel to make it hot.  I’ve used the versions you either microwave (for hot) or stick in the freezer (for cold).  The one thing common about all these is that they were just that … a hot pad or a cold pad.

Precious came up with a revolutionary product called the Precious all Natural Pain-Away Pad.

Precious All Natural Pain-Away Pad

Precious All Natural Pain-Away Pad

Unlike other hot and cold compresses, this one comes filled with special herbs combined to give you much-needed pain relief.  Even as I opened the package I could smell the eucalyptus that must be part of the mixed herbs.

  • Hot and cold compress using your microwave or steamer at home
  • Made of all-natural herbal seed and aromatic herbs
  • 100% natural aromatherapy herbal heat pillow
  • Moist heat therapy and dry cold therapy with aromatherapy
  • Best for joint pains and spasms
  • Helps remove stress
  • Hot herbal pillow help relax stiff muscles
  • Good for back pain and arthritis

How to use:

  1. To heat it up you could either put it (the green package that smells really nice) in the microwave or steam it.  Directions could be found in the package.
  2. To freeze it, just place it in the freezer for a few hours.
  3. After you have either heated or frozen it to your needs place it in the cloth bag that comes with the package.
  4. Apply to the affected area (like your shoulder or neck) and just relax.

Easy, right?  And best of all, it is available at Lazada at a very affordable price!

Happy hands and feet at Nail It! Rockwell

Happy hands and feet at Nail It! Rockwell

Mommy-daughter dates are always fun and one really fun way to spend it is by having our nails done at Nail It! Salon.  I’ve visited Nail It! Salon at Fisher Mall in the past and when my daughter and I got invited to Nail It! at Rockwell Business Center last May 15 I just couldn’t say no. 🙂  So off we went on the day set to have happy hands and feet.

Where is Nail It! Rockwell Business Center?

Nail It Salon Rockwell Business Center

Nail It Salon Rockwell Business Center

The email we were sent said that Nail It! was located beside Banco de Oro.  Sounds simple enough, right?  Our Grabcar dropped us off in front of Krispy Kreme and we looked around and could not see any Banco de Oro.

Closer inspection showed a BDO ATM in the building.  We walked a bit more around the building and saw another BDO ATM and no Nail it! in sight.  A few meters more and, voila!  There’s Banco de Oro!  Guess what?  Still no Nail It.

Out of frustration we asked a building guard and he pointed us way over at the back of the building.  And what do you know?  There it was!  Surprise, surprise … no Banco de Oro there.  When we asked the staff of Nail It! about this they said that BDO USED to be beside them but has recently moved.

But once you know where it is, you can’t miss it.  It is right beside their sister company, Lay Bare Waxing Salon. At the right is a map showing exactly where it is.

When we entered we were met by a welcoming staff of Nail It! and, for the blogger event, a table with finger food and a venue bedecked with streamers.

Pampering time!

They led us to some comfy chairs on the floor and we were excited to start. 🙂 When getting a mani-pedi we usually get the pedi first and this usually starts with a warm soak.  Unlike other nail salons (and even some branches of Nail It!) this branch has sinks installed right at the foot of each easy chair.  That’s so cool!  It means the technicians do not need to lug tubs with warm water back and forth across the salon.

Soaking my feet in warm water is always a wonderful experience.  The foot spa that followed involved a scrub and a massage.  At the end of the treatment what we’re left with is happy feet, yey!  Those are Erika’s feet, by the way.

Once the feet were done it was time for the hands.  It’s actually been at least a month since we’ve had a manicure so we were quite looking forward to having sexy hands again. 🙂

A cleaning, a buffing, apply the color, quick dry, and voila! Check out Erika’s hands.  Aren’t they beautiful?

shooting starAs for me?  I opted to have some nail art done.  They showed me their samples to choose from and, as I am not a flora and fauna kind of person all their choices made me go “meh”.  So I picked up my phone and searched online for interesting nail art and I found this really cool shooting star nail art on Pinterest.

I think my nail attendant, Angel, did a good job of copying it.  It’s not an exact copy but it is good enough.  I’m happy with it.  We used black, silver, and grey Orly nail polish.

Happy hands, happy feet, happy bloggers!

These are the bloggers (including us) that were there at the blogger event.  I could be wrong but we all look happy with our mani-pedis. 🙂

Lenovo A7000 Plus Unboxed

Lenovo A7000 Plus Unboxed

A while back I posted about the flash sale of Lazada where they featured the Lenovo A7000 Plus. Several bloggers were invited to the unboxing of the Lenovo A7000 Plus at Lazada HQ.  There were tech bloggers and lifestyle bloggers.

Everyone had different blogging techniques that I found interesting to see. One was making a video blog on the spot. Another blogger brought her own lamp. And some would use natural light (aka, bring the unit to the window and use sunlight) for their shots. I opted to trust the camera of my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5) and Photoshop.

Some would write on the spot.  And there were others, like me, who opted to take our work home.

I look forward to events like these because they give me a chance to fiddle with the gadgets.   And that’s exactly what we got to do today.

Considering the price I was expecting a low-end phone with entry-level specs.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that quality does not have to be expensive.  Its features are almost comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S6.  Its response time was really fast.  I also wondered about the glass since Samsung comes with Gorilla glass and was told that it uses Dragontrail, instead of Gorilla glass.  Dragontrail and Gorilla are very similar in performance.  The main difference … the manufacturer.

The camera took really good pictures, too.  Both the front and back cameras.  We tried to compare the rear camera of our phones with that of the Lenovo A7000 Plus and it stood up well.
