Alpha of Nightmares by Bryant

Alpha of Nightmares by Bryant

The first time I encountered Alpha of Nightmares by Bryant on Goodnovel I was iffy if I should read it or not. My first thought was “What kind of alpha is he if cannot control his wolf?” Was his wolf, Chesed, that strong, or was Alec that weak? Was Alec/Chesed even worth meeting?

You see, in every new book I open, the lead male character is my book boyfriend so I wasn’t sure if he had what it took to be my boyfriend. Thank goodness, I gave him a shot! The call of the mate bond was just too strong, lol!

But, seriously, my curiosity was piqued. I just had to know the story. I HAD to know the circumstances that led to Alpha Chesed instead of Alpha Alec and his wolf Chesed. In addition, I also found it intriguing how Alec and Chesed had such different personalities. They are polar opposites but come together when it has anything to do with the pack and their children.

His story and how his relationship with Crista grew was just wonderful to witness. But for me, the icing on the cake was Alpha Heir Andre and his incorrigible personality. I’m looking forward to seeing Alpha of Nightmares by Bryant on Amazon soon, but for now, you can read this on Goodnovel.

Six Like the Number by Dee Hanna

Six Like the Number by Dee Hanna

Six Like The Number by Dee Hanna is a story I read on a whim one time on GoodNovel. I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not because, to be honest, I wasn’t attracted to the cover art. I was, however, intrigued by the title.

I’m glad I took the time to read it. It is hard to categorize because Axle, the male lead is supposedly a bad boy but doesn’t really act like the stereotype. He isn’t a bully and his biggest “rebellion” would be ditching class a lot. At most, I would say he is a (pardon my French) fuckboy.

The lead female is Six who is the daughter of a drug addict and is raising her 3-year-old younger brother, Theo. Neither of them knows who their fathers are and their mother is always strung out so Six is responsible for taking care of them both. To do this Six takes on a secret, unconventional job that will later become the catalyst for conflict.

Axle and Six are high school seniors, but that is incidental to the story. It really just establishes how they meet and interact daily. They were never enemies to lovers. At best I would say strangers/classmates to friends with benefits … and their relationship happened really fast. It took several weeks for them to be officially boyfriend and girlfriend but, again … no drama.

Six’s ex enters the picture and he is supposed to be the biggest baddie but, again, this does not manifest when he is around Six.

Six Like The Number is fast-paced and, was surprisingly (for me) a real page-turner. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it several months ago and I had to re-read it now just for this review. I won’t say more! You have to read it for yourself.

If you’re looking for something to read that does not involve wolves, vampires, dragons, or any other kind of shifter … if you are looking for a story with substance, try out this book … Six Like The Number by Dee Hanna, available on Goodnovel.

Arrested by Stephanie Brother

Arrested by Stephanie Brother

Arrested by Stephanie Brother has a (slightly) darker theme than most of her other books as the sexual proclivity of the main characters is unusual and borders on BDSM. Being steps (or almost steps) is not even that big of an issue as they met as adults when their respective parents announced their engagement.

Their romance may be unusual but I get the kink and I can get with the fantasy. 🙂

You can get a copy of the ebook at Amazon or you can also read it as part of the Forbidden set.

Lawless by Stephanie Brother

Lawless by Stephanie Brother

Lawless by Stephanie Brother was such a quick read that I felt like it was a short story. But it wasn’t about the number of chapters but rather that the story was so engaging that I didn’t notice that I was reading it so quickly!

She’s a defense attorney, he’s a reluctant (yet efficient) gangster. How are they connected to each other? They’re step-siblings! But underneath the resentment is an attraction that neither could deny.

Lawless by Stephanie Brother is still a stepbrother romance but it isn’t as naughty as some would think. It isn’t a dark story … no one seriously gets hurt … but there are lots of lovin’ feels. You just HAVE to check it out! You can find this book at Amazon or as part of the Forbidden Box Set.

The Alpha’s Inferno by Reece Barden

The Alpha’s Inferno by Reece Barden

The Alpha’s Inferno by Reece Barden follows the relationship between Sheriff Marcus, a were-bear, and Leila, a werewolf, the pack princess and sister of Cooper, the Alpha in the first book, The Alpha’s Saviour.

How can a relationship between them progress when one seems so hellbent on self-sabotage? Alpha’s Inferno is so frustrating in that I want to drag Marcus by the hair, sit him down in front of Leila and then bump their heads together so that they could both FINALLY talk and get on board the fated mate train and start making pups/cubs.

Marcus is a bear, and therefore, does not feel the mate bond, even though he finds himself extremely attracted to Leila. Part of the problem, for him, is that she is the pack princess. Since he is the sheriff he doesn’t feel that he has any right to get involved with her.

Leila recognized the mate bond instantly. However, since Marcus seemed hellbent on avoiding her and “doing the right thing” she falls into despair while trying to pretend that all is well so that the rest of the pack (and townspeople) don’t know there is anything wrong.

The story is so interesting that despite the frustration factor, I still kept on reading. This story definitely falls under “slow burn” and it does get pretty hot so I would still recommend it. Let me know if you get frustrated with Marcus as well, lol!

Bears can be so dense!

If you would like to read this story, you can find it on Goodnovel and on Amazon in Kindle and paperback versions.
