5 Things You Do Better When You Have A Journal

5 Things You Do Better When You Have A Journal

2020 was a year of uncertainty and consecutive challenges. We spent most of our days in isolation that we’ve almost lost track of time. As we try to regain some balance and slowly recover from how the lockdown has affected our lives, we turn to building good habits that can help us cope and emerge stronger than before. One of them is through journaling.

stethoscope

Medical experts and psychologists have reminded us that keeping a journal may actually help us boost our mental health by helping us gain control of our emotions and plans. Here, we have listed down five more things that you can do better when you have a journal.

It helps you acknowledge and process your feelings better.

We are coming from a time of emotional rollercoaster and situations that we are not really built for. Close interactions now scare us. We feel fear the moment we envision what the future holds for us. Some days, we feel grateful and moved by the possibility of caring from a distance. We miss the beach, we long for get-togethers.

It may sound like a lot of feelings, but there’s actually more – and it’s okay to admit that they’re quite difficult to absorb. Wring short notes per day can help you acknowledge and embrace those emotions as they come. Somehow, we don’t get too overwhelmed when we have a personal avenue to express ourselves, giving us more time to reflect and breathe.

We love how the Belle De Jour Power Planner Earth concept and empowering designs remind us that we’re in the process of being whole again. It’s perfect for those who are still learning more about themselves and eager to thrive amidst the chaos.

It helps you live in the present.

everything is possible plannerA lot of thoughts and experiences from the past consume us, and sometimes they make us feel drained than inspired. Writing about your daily plans or stories allows you to live your life consciously, and Everything Is Possible planner’s breakthrough theme for the coming year goes well with this purpose.

It inspires you to think about what you can do now, instead of what you could have done. It can help lighten the burden on your shoulders and prepare you for what’s ahead. In the process of living in the moment, you can discover new skills, abilities, interests, and goals, too.

Journaling helps you keep track of your responsibilities and needs.

The majority of our tasks are now done online. Whether your company has decided to extend the work-from-home setup, or you’re attending online classes, this virtual transition is quite hard to deal with. It’s more difficult to keep track of time, projects, and goals, and further envision how they would unfold in real life. But this is the part where planners can make the management of our day-to-day tasks easier.

We can quickly identify significant dates and update our progress from time to time.

Our days can be quite full, so it is really nice to have a journal that leaves ample space for you to jot down ideas just like the Focus planner. Its pages are decorated with the sacred geometry of Icosahedron, a three-dimensional figure that is made of 20 triangle-shaped sides, to represent change, movement, and flow.

Those on the minimalist side may appreciate the elegance of the Essentials planner’s Art Deco-inspired designs, too.

It helps you reconnect with people.

Keeping a journal is not just about how you can hustle or manage your own life. It’s personal, and a huge part of our existence depends on people, relationships. Living more consciously means assessing our connections with our loved ones every now and then.

Maybe it’s time to catch-up with your friends or colleagues? Or maybe it’s time to schedule that talk with your boss? If you’re the type of person who keeps on forgetting the exact dates of your friends’ birthdays, then advanced journal entries can serve as your little reminders, too.

The minimalist, portable Petit planner is just what we need for this purpose so we can see what matters in one glance. Now that we have fewer physical interactions or brunch dates, it’s important to find new ways to maintain our relationships.

Journaling makes you care for yourself even more.

What many people don’t realize is that journals help you give yourself the complete care that it needs. Doctors emphasize that it is now more vital to monitor physical conditions on our own. You can maximize those blank pages by writing down how you’re feeling (a symptom tracker, maybe?), so you can also respond to what your body needs.

naviThis also applies to our emotional and mental wellbeing. Expressing your emotions or sharing some experiences can help you identify the kind of self-care that works for you. The lighthouse-themed NAVI journal reminds us that we’re still trying to navigate this life, but eventually, we will find the path that is meant for us.

Whether you want to keep a journal for growth, self-love, reconnecting with yourself, finding your light, or simply capturing your thoughts and feelings through words, Viviamo offers different styles and formats that could match any undertaking.

Choose from their Belle de Jour Power Planner collection, NAVI, Everything Is Possible, Focus, Essentials, and Petit planners. Go to https://go.crazyaboutpaper.com/viviamoplanners to view their products, and power through 2021.

Women Swear by This Miracle Hair Conditioner and Never Looked Back

Women Swear by This Miracle Hair Conditioner and Never Looked Back

Maintaining healthy, shiny, and gorgeous hair means constant work and everyday care. Many of us spend most of our lives trying to find the right conditioner that matches our hair needs, but oftentimes, we find that something is missing. Your conditioner’s promise to last all day may only last for a few hours before tiny strands of hair start popping out; it’s the dreaded tutchang coming out of nowhere. So, you’re left with just a frizzy, sticky mess — and its only mid-day.

Time to Switch It Up

If you’re struggling to maintain great hair, you’re definitely not alone! A lot of women who are disappointed by their current conditioner have already made the switch, and they never looked back. You can join them by bringing salon-level smoothness to your hair with the Pantene Collagen Miracle Intensive Serum Conditioner.

Stressed about your current conditioner not smoothening your hair enough? Diane has “Tried it and it’s super effective, ang soft ng hair ko and I can see lesser hair fall.”

Nicole just doesn’t love how her hair turned out but also loves how it smells great as well. “It’s really good to use in the hair, my hair is so soft, and it smells so good.”

Like Diane, Kat is just as happy with how her hair has turned out after using Pantene Collagen Miracle Intensive Serum Conditioner. “I’ve been waiting to hoard this!! Super bango at malambot talaga sa buhok!”

Even Hannah who has bleached hair was able to get rid of her unruly tutchang when she switched to Pantene. “I used it on my bleached hair. It’s really soft and silky in hair. No more tutchang!”

From Halloween look to summer vibes, Sarah just can’t get enough of her seasonal hair upgrade. “I love this product! Lumambot naman hair ko — from Halloween bruhahaha, now beach waves na ang peg ng buhok ko.”

While going to the salon isn’t as safe as it used to be, Melissa found Pantene to treat her to an at-home hair spa treatment. “Ang ganda niya sa buhok. Nakakalambot talaga. At dahil pandemic ngayon mahirap mag pa-salon, kaya isa ito sa mare-recommend ko na product together with the Pantene Collagen Treatment Shots.”

When There’s A Will, There’s A Collagen Miracle Way

Pantene Collagen Miracle Intensive Serum ConditionerIf you’re looking for the solution to tutchang, and your current conditioner just can’t keep your hair looking healthy and smooth any longer, it’s time to switch it up. And we’ve got just the right conditioner for your hair frustrations. Look no further than the Pantene Collagen Miracle Intensive Serum Conditioner!

Unlike conventional conditioners, Pantene Collagen Miracle Intensive Serum Conditioner smartly targets damaged areas of each hair strand, forming a protective layer around the rough hair with Collagen adding an extra layer of strength through a triple helix scaffolding. This makes it more resilient against breakage from external causes of damage so you can achieve stronger strands.

Compared to other collagen-based conditioners, the Pantene Collagen Miracle Intensive Serum Conditioner has real collagen that can bring back the natural strength of your strands. It’s formulated with a blend of Pro-Vitamin B5, miracle serum, and real collagen — sealing in nutrients and locking in moisture, turning dry, frizzy hair into shiny, smoother hair every day.

Pictured above, top to bottom: Anne Curtis, Gabbi Garcia, Kylie Verzosa, and Sofia Andres

Four of the many Filipinas that switched and stayed away from tutchang after using the Pantene Miracle Collagen Intensive Serum Conditioner.

It’s never too late to join the several Filipina women who have now found the perfect conditioner for their hair problems after years of trial and error. Bring back life to your dry, frizzy, and parched hair and treat it to an at-home salon hair spa treatment with Pantene Miracle Collagen Intensive Serum Conditioner.

You can conveniently buy Pantene products, and have them delivered to your home when you shop through Lazada and Shopee.

Filinvest New Clark City at the forefront of economic recovery

Filinvest New Clark City at the forefront of economic recovery

The COVID-19 pandemic may have had a substantial impact on various industries, including real estate, but Filinvest not only remains resilient but is doing its part to accelerate the economic recovery, providing investment opportunities through its newest progressive development: Filinvest New Clark City (FNCC).

1. Filinvest New Clark City is set to be the new eco-sustainable and master-planned central business district of Central Luzon.

A 288-hectare development that is part of the highly anticipated 9,450-hectare project of New Clark City in Tarlac, the FNCC represents Filinvest’s vision of building a smart, green, sustainable, and highly accessible metropolis outside Metro Manila. As it is also set to be a place for harmonious coexistence, FNCC is a locality that can seamlessly bring together the “live, work, play, and learn” lifestyle.

This kind of progressive township has always been a trademark of Filinvest with decades of experience in master-planned projects like the LEED Gold-certified business district Filinvest City in Alabang; coastal township City di Mare in Cebu; and the growing leisure and business center, Filinvest Mimosa+ Leisure City in Clark, Pampanga. Once again, it demonstrates its expertise in the development of Filinvest New Clark City, creating sustainable urban spaces guided by the FNCC blueprint known as “Eco-Tech-Ture” taken from the words Ecology, Technology, Architecture, Future, and Culture.

Josephine Gotianun-Yap, President and CEO of Filinvest Development Corp.

Josephine Gotianun-Yap, President and CEO of Filinvest Development Corp.

“Working with Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the government has only reinforced our vision that our country should be mindful of only building smart, efficient, and future-ready cities,” said Josephine Gotianun-Yap, President and CEO of Filinvest Development Corp.

“With this, we identified that Ecology, Technology and Architecture, Future, and Culture or Eco-tech-ture are vital elements that should be well-integrated to attain our goal.”

Given Filinvest’s consistent nature-first philosophy, it comes as no surprise that Ecology or Eco is first on the list, recognizing the long-term impact of caring for the environment. Being a sustainable district, it has green superblocks and urban quarters which redefine the standards of a business metropolis.

FNCC is built to be disaster-resilient, providing an overall green experience by having a well-planned ecosystem of hardscapes and softscapes that will complement and enhance the way of life. This will be executed through the intentional presence of greens, open spaces, public parks, walkway systems which are designed to highlight the location’s natural topography surrounded by open spaces and lush mountain views.

Filinvest New Clark City’s Innovation Park offers strategic space and location, making way for future-ready businesses and industries.

Filinvest New Clark City is primed to be an innovation hub that is equipped with up to date facilities. Filinvest is ensuring that it will have the capacity to adapt to technological advances which will allow it to entirely evolve into a full-fledged smart city that is comparable to the world’s best cities.  Investors, entrepreneurs, start-ups, and those simply looking for new dwellings will find a base at FNCC as it is built for business, industrial, leisure, and residential use.

As part of FNCC’s architecture, convergence and landscaped spaces will be built to humanize the urban environment and to enhance the sense of belonging of the people living and working in the city. Master-planned by global architecture, urbanism, and design firm Broadway Malyan, FNCC will be a world center for local and foreign entities to come together for business and for citizens to discover a new place to improve quality of life. In terms of commerce, it will be a breeding ground for Industrial parks, BPOs, research and development, learning institutions, and medical facilities to name a few. Simultaneously, there will be recreational zones that will foster wellness and relaxation with its lifestyle establishments. Finally, coexisting with all these is the vibrant, green surroundings.

These plans exist to serve the people and help form an inclusive community wherein there is room for everyone to thrive even amid difficult times. With FNCC’s well-planned architecture, a sustainable and future-proof city awaits.

FNCC Phase 1 is set to be completed in the near future which will include the first 60 hectares of Filinvest Innovation Park, where industrial lots are currently being offered for lease.

#YouGotThis – Powering through life amidst the pandemic with journal therapy

#YouGotThis – Powering through life amidst the pandemic with journal therapy

With everything that’s been going on lately surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, it feels as though we haven’t been given enough time to prepare or process the drastic changes that have been happening in our lives. Given these negative events happening around us, our bodies might be responding to them in three possible ways: suppress feelings associated with the event, don’t actively process the emotions of the situation; or allow the experience to be the sole focus of our life.

Darlyn Ty-Nilo

“When you’re falling into any of these common responses, and find it hard to freely express your emotions with someone else, then a method that might probably work for you is journal therapy,” advises Darlyn Ty-Nilo, founder and president of Viviamo Inc., the custom publishing company behind Belle de Jour Power Planner.

This method entails writing down your thoughts and emotions in your journal with the intent of processing them without any judgment from and of yourself and your emotions. This then becomes a powerful journey to self-healing.

With journal therapy, the left part of the brain becomes active, allowing you to be more creative in expressing your ideas. The more you pick up the habit of writing, the more you feel freer from the emotions you have bottling up. Doing so might even give you clarity and understanding of the negative events you have experienced.

Additionally, journal therapy can be highly beneficial to one’s physical and mental wellbeing:

It reduces stress.

Journaling is an effective stress-management tool because it helps you prioritize your problems, fears, and concerns. It can also track your day-to-day emotions and recognize your negative triggers and learn how to better control them.

Keeps the mind active and memory sharp.

Journaling can help your brain stay in tip-top shape. It helps improve your cognitive functions by boosting comprehension and increasing one’s memory capacity. As you reconnect with yourself, you are also keeping your brain engaged at all times.

Strengthen emotional functions.

Journaling can be a cathartic experience for writers. It allows them to express their emotions, helping the brain regulate emotions. Journaling also gives the writers a sense of mindfulness, remaining present while gaining perspective.

Immortalizes your past.

Expressive writing ensures your past is not forgotten. Whether it’s a negative or positive memory, writing them down will keep the mental imagery clear for many years to come, which can have a positive impact on your long-term memory. Immortalizing your past through journaling will most likely aid in your future rather than hinder it.

Improves overall physical health.

Studies show that writing for therapy has positive effects on people with asthma, liver disease, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic pelvic pain, and even cancer. It also improves the immune system and speeds up wound healing.

Journaling is a very enriching habit anyone can pick up. But to make it even more fun, insightful, and meaningful for you, let Viviamo! Inc. guide you through the whole process as it holds its first-ever planning and journaling summit in the Philippines, for FREE, entitled #YouGotThis happening on September 19 and 20.  Simultaneously, Viviamo! Inc. will release its 2021 products online via crazyaboutpaper.com.

“This online summit idea came into existence when our community members shared a common sentiment on being unsure about using their planner or journal when everything is so uncertain,” adds Dar Ty-Nilo. “Our goal is to help our community members journey out of this pandemic stronger and better, and see the value of journaling in managing emotions and navigating through their days and help them power through during these uncertain times.”

The #YouGotThis summit will feature three (3) panel discussions and seven (7) individual talks featuring esteemed keynote speakers who will share meaningful insights and personal experiences on how journaling has helped them, including content creators Macoy Dubs and Cat Triviño, brand and content strategist Victoria Herrera, global design director duo Katwo and Nico Puertollano, creative entrepreneur Alessa Lanot, globally accredited coach and mentor Pia Acevedo, and vision board coach Trixie Esguerra.

Participants not only get to enjoy fun games, win prizes, and score purchase discounts, they will also be given the chance to have an engaging Q&A with the speakers.

“Take Action” from home with NASA

“Take Action” from home with NASA

MANILA, Philippines.  On October 2-4, The United States space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) invites coders, entrepreneurs, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, artists, and technologists to come together in a global, virtual hackathon. During a period of 48 hours, participants from around the world will come together to create virtual teams and solve challenges using NASA’s open-source data.

Designed for those interested in space science and exploration, this hackathon allows the next generation of scientists, technologists, designers, and engineers to showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills through inspired collaboration and critical thinking.

As part of Space Apps, everyone belongs to a global hackathon community that embraces collaboration across borders, sectors, and cultures to bring about paradigm-shifting innovation.

take action from home

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of the global community’s health and safety, this year’s hackathon will be an all-virtual event. In other words, all events shall be moved online.

In this unprecedented time, the Space Apps community exists as a reminder that everyone has the tools and talents to tackle the challenges facing the planet, as well as the ability to unite across boundaries and borders of all kinds.

The theme for this year — “Take Action” — is a critical reminder that anyone can make a difference, even from the comfort and safety of home.

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) of France, and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) will be partnering again with NASA for this hackathon.

Since Space Apps is brought to the Philippines by developer and technology community leader Tzar C. Umang from Pangasinan last 2016, the country witnessed how the community grew from a group of volunteers to forging partnerships with collaborators and stakeholders.

The Philippines produced global winners like the dengue hotspot predictor Project AEDES and information portal G.I.D.E.O.N. measuring COVID-19 impact, both developed by CirroLytix. The country also has global finalists like Celestial Snails from De La Salle University addressing social isolation and Sentinellium, an epidemic predictor using population density data, both addressing problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Space Apps Throughout the Years in the Philippines

While recognition and honor were given to the Philippines by NASA and partner agencies, lead organizer Michael Lance M. Domagas hopes that the country would soon realize the importance and value of giving support and assistance in the development of these winning projects, so that fellow Filipinos would benefit from these technologies coming from outer space in times of emergencies like COVID-19 and dengue epidemic.

“Space Apps is a perfect venue that can arouse curiosity and interest of Filipinos to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), including space and Earth sciences. Our own country’s support should have been a way to inspire more Filipinos and further develop winning projects,” he said. Space Apps can be a program in developing “space education and promote public awareness” stated in Section 8 of the Republic Act 11363 otherwise known as the “Philippine Space Act.”

“The Global Organizing Team is inspired by the journey the Philippines has with the Space Apps program. In particular, we appreciate the development of STEM in the Philippines and elsewhere, because one goal of Space Apps is to foster interest and learning in these fields worldwide,” according to Matt Scott, the Global Community Director and Storyteller.
