Alpha Zander by Vanessa Turner is a love story I would put in the young adult/teen section. It is set in high school where the main characters are both in their senior year.
Zander is the son of the current Alpha of the Charwood pack. He is popular and always has a bevy of she-wolves in his wake. Ashleigh is the daughter of the current Beta of the Liverpool pack and has been trained to replace her dad when the time comes.
Because of an old rivalry involving witches and spells and general misunderstanding, Charwood and Liverpool have been at each other’s necks for several generations. The school, though, is on neutral ground and they are forced to be civil to each other.
In V. Turner’s world, werewolves will not be able to sense their mate until both parties are at least 18 years old. While it is generally expected that they would wait for their mates, many wolves don’t. You can just imagine Zander’s dismay when he discovers that Ashleigh is his mate while he is making out with another she-wolf.
While there are events that happen to make this story more exciting, Alpha Zander by Vanessa Turner is essentially a love story and revolves around the evolution of Zander and Ashleigh’s relationship and the acceptance of their corresponding families and packs. It promises HEA with a cliffhanger on what will happen in the next book (which is actually quite intriguing).
This story is available on Goodnovel and possibly on other reading apps.

Non-linear storytelling is fun, and I thought that was what was happening with Alpha Wolf’s Secret Nanny by Anika Skye. The way the story began was a fumbling attempt at a flashback. As the story progressed, I had hoped to get more information about why Griffin, her ex who happened to be a werewolf and an Alpha, was hunting her down and killing anyone and everyone who protected her.
She shows us a glimpse of her past when Griffin singled her out from all the girls in school to go to the prom with him. After that nothing else was said except that he wanted her and would stop at nothing to get her back. For years she has been trying to hide from him and this last time is when she took a job as a nanny to the newborn child of Winston. Unbeknownst to her, he is an Alpha wolf, too.
Winston is drawn towards her but fights it. It is obvious that Charlotte knows a few things about wolves but not about mates. In this story a human-werewolf relationship is taboo and yet Griffin was still hellbent on having her despite her “rejection”. It is just too confusing!
The story feels incomplete and needs fleshing out and could be longer and better if the author takes the time to do it. You can read Alpha Wolf’s Secret Nanny by Anika Skye by downloading it from Amazon. You can buy it for 0.99 or read it with a Kindle Unlimited account.

Never Say Werewolf Again by Violet Vaughn was such an enjoyable story to read! From the beginning an important fact is established … Brindle and Katie love each other. They were high school sweethearts. They loved each other so much that they felt that it would last forever.
Brindle is a werewolf. For once, a story about a regular werewolf … not an Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, etc. He discovers that the girl he has loved for a long time is his true mate.
Katie is human and when she discovers that Brindle is a werewolf she was ok with it and even asked him to turn her into one, too, so that they could be together forever. But somehow, after her first shift, she got scared and changed her mind, and ran away.
Brindle finds her again at university a year later because she is in heat. No matter how many men she goes through no one would be able to satiate her except for her mate. While things between them are still unresolved he is still there to help her.
Something to look forward to in this story … not a lot of angst but a good narrative. It is a quick read and entertaining. 🙂 Never Say Werewolf Again by Violet Vaughn is on Amazon and is the first book of the Winter Valley Wolves series. Best of all, it is absolutely FREE! The succeeding books are 2.99 a pop. If you enjoy this one you may end up getting the next books (like I did, lol!)
Enjoy this freebie!

Rejected mate? Huh! No one is more rejected than Lucianne in The 5-Time Rejected Gamma and the Lycan King by Stina’s Pen. In most shifter romances the most times a wolf could be rejected is once … then they could possibly get a second chance mate. Many do not even survive rejection. So, can you imagine how strong Lucianne is to survive 5 rejections?
When she meets Xandar, the Lycan King, at a gathering of Alphas, Lunas, and Gammas and he asked for her name, she already assumed that he was going to reject her. Turns out it was furthest from the truth! Xandar was eager for his mate and while he could not understand why anyone would reject her, he was glad they did because it meant that he got to be her mate. He set out to prove himself worthy to Lucianne. Can you imagine that? The Lycan king trying to convince a werewolf that he is good enough.
This story is really good and is unlike most shifter stories I have read. Despite Xandar being the king, it is obvious from the start that Lucianne is our protagonist and is stronger than most. Unlike what we are used to, she is well-loved by many and is actually on good terms with most (if not all) of the men who rejected her. I know that is weird but you have to read the book to find out why. There is something very special about her and a large part of the book is devoted to either following Xandar and Lucianne’s romance or figuring out what makes her special.
As with most strong protagonists she has deadly enemies who put a smattering of spice to an already rich story.
The 5-Time Rejected Gamma and the Lycan King by Stina’s Pen story is long so while I started reading it on Goodnovel, I ended up buying the ebook at Barnes and Noble for 14.99. It sounds expensive but for 753 pages of a good story, I am willing to spend. The paperback version is available on Amazon for 24.09, sadly no Kindle version. I almost bought it, too, but when I was about to check it out, Amazon ran out of copies.
The 5-Time Rejected Gamma and the Lycan King by Stina’s Pen is an excellent story. You won’t regret the purchase, I promise.

I read The Alpha and His Vet by Twyllie on Novelbee where it is called The Alpha’s Vet. I started to read this story because the title intrigued me. Why would an Alpha need a vet? Do they not have a pack doctor? Or maybe he only shows himself to her when he is a wolf?
Lacey Macoy is at university studying Veterinary Medicine and is at the top of her class. Her parents are surgeons and were disappointed that she didn’t want to pursue “people medicine”. She is very beautiful and often catches the eye of several men although she isn’t always aware of it.
Ronan Basco is a werewolf, but Lacey doesn’t know it. His mate passed away some time ago and upon meeting Lacey he was so enamored with her that he made the decision to imprint on her. In Twyllie’s world, an imprint is something like a chosen mate but more intense, as it has all the same manifestations as a fated mate, except the imprint is a conscious decision by the individual.
Luca Basco is no ordinary werewolf. He is the Alpha King, the Alpha of Alphas. He rules over all werewolves all over the world. He was vocal about never wanting a mate and yet the moment he smelled her from afar his fate was literally sealed. The fiercest, scariest werewolf of all became the most romantic and loving mate you could ever ask for.
Lacey met Ronan first and they have become close but her feelings for Luca are strong. Will she really have to choose? The Alpha and His Vet by Twyllie is a romance but it is also about friendship and a little bit of mystery to spice things up. It has a little over fifty chapters and is a pleasure to read. There are more than a few grammar issues but forgivable. I hope her editor catches them before she publishes the story for print.
I loved it. I hope you get the chance to read it, too, either on Novelbee or Dreame.
