I was dubious at first when they said Apple Pie Soda but one sip and I was convinced.  Now I know what drinking an apple pie tastes like.  It isn’t apple juice.  You can really taste the pastry in the drink.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup pasta
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (option: mix Swiss and parmesan cheese as well)
  • Optional: ½ tablespoon butter or margarine

 Procedure:

  1. Combine pasta and water in a Tupperware Jumbo Mug
  2. Microwave pasta in 1-minute intervals, stirring after each minute to check noodle consistency. The water should be absorbed and the noodles should be soft after about 4 minutes of this
  3. Add cheese and milk, and stir. (Optional: add melted butter here to make your mac ‘n’ cheese creamier)
  4. Put pasta back in microwave for 1 minute, stir thoroughly, and enjoy!

The Satchmi Store was packed to the brim for their 1st birthday. A celebration of Satchmi’s love for records, music, and the lifestyle they cultivate together with their community of friends and loyal customers.

It’s no surprise when we saw people pouring in from all directions to the store. When you step in, it’s as if you’re in another world separated from the mall itself. There was free food courtesy of Mr. Graham’s Sandwich Shop, their highly talked about Cebuano along with chips and dip filled everyone’s appetite throughout the event. In tandem were Mrs. Graham’s macarons straight from her cafe, specially made for the event complete with vinyl record designs and plating. Their Apple Pie Soda was also served during the party as well as Craftpoint’s Summer Sessions. All free aside from Satchmi’s esteemed third-wave coffee.

People got to experience fun and games throughout the event like spin the wheel with prizes from Satchmi’s lifestyle brands — Happy Socks, Lost Nomad, Gouache Bags, The Green House Project, Sunday Paper Co and more, there was also a sleeve face Photo Booth contest, by the end of the night the most creative photo got to take home a Motorino Mk II. A Satchmi event wouldn’t be complete without performances from their favorite artists BP Valenzuela, Reese & Vica, CRWN, and up-and-coming Coeli. Chip Balbuena — a comedian from Comedy Cartel’s line up was also there to provide some laughs for the night.

The main event was when Satchmi released a video showcasing what was next for them this year. Some of the artists include Autotelic, Oh, Flamingo!, BP x CRWN collab, Tandems ’91, She’s Only Sixteen, Reese & Vica, Imago, Taken by Cars, and more! A total of 12 tracks for a vinyl produced and manufactured entirely by Satchmi. The vinyl, entitled “General Assembly” (and rightly so) will be released sometime in 2016.

A while back I posted about the flash sale of Lazada where they featured the Lenovo A7000 Plus. Several bloggers were invited to the unboxing of the Lenovo A7000 Plus at Lazada HQ.  There were tech bloggers and lifestyle bloggers.

Everyone had different blogging techniques that I found interesting to see. One was making a video blog on the spot. Another blogger brought her own lamp. And some would use natural light (aka, bring the unit to the window and use sunlight) for their shots. I opted to trust the camera of my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5) and Photoshop.

Some would write on the spot.  And there were others, like me, who opted to take our work home.

I look forward to events like these because they give me a chance to fiddle with the gadgets.   And that’s exactly what we got to do today.

Considering the price I was expecting a low-end phone with entry-level specs.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that quality does not have to be expensive.  Its features are almost comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S6.  Its response time was really fast.  I also wondered about the glass since Samsung comes with Gorilla glass and was told that it uses Dragontrail, instead of Gorilla glass.  Dragontrail and Gorilla are very similar in performance.  The main difference … the manufacturer.

The camera took really good pictures, too.  Both the front and back cameras.  We tried to compare the rear camera of our phones with that of the Lenovo A7000 Plus and it stood up well.
