The Alpha’s Inferno by Reece Barden

The Alpha’s Inferno by Reece Barden

The Alpha’s Inferno by Reece Barden follows the relationship between Sheriff Marcus, a were-bear, and Leila, a werewolf, the pack princess and sister of Cooper, the Alpha in the first book, The Alpha’s Saviour.

How can a relationship between them progress when one seems so hellbent on self-sabotage? Alpha’s Inferno is so frustrating in that I want to drag Marcus by the hair, sit him down in front of Leila and then bump their heads together so that they could both FINALLY talk and get on board the fated mate train and start making pups/cubs.

Marcus is a bear, and therefore, does not feel the mate bond, even though he finds himself extremely attracted to Leila. Part of the problem, for him, is that she is the pack princess. Since he is the sheriff he doesn’t feel that he has any right to get involved with her.

Leila recognized the mate bond instantly. However, since Marcus seemed hellbent on avoiding her and “doing the right thing” she falls into despair while trying to pretend that all is well so that the rest of the pack (and townspeople) don’t know there is anything wrong.

The story is so interesting that despite the frustration factor, I still kept on reading. This story definitely falls under “slow burn” and it does get pretty hot so I would still recommend it. Let me know if you get frustrated with Marcus as well, lol!

Bears can be so dense!

Magic Transformed by DJ Dalton

Magic Transformed by DJ Dalton

Magic Transformed is book 4 of the Twisted Curse series by DJ Dalton. It is action-packed from page 1. If you haven’t read the first 3 books it may be difficult to follow the story. But if you change your perspective and think of it as a non-linear story then as you read, it starts to make sense. I think of it as something like watching Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction for the first.

The story is set in a world much like ours except with the strong presence of magic. So imagine elementals, dragons, shifters, and magic users.  Now add to that the police, doctors, reporters, and a gamut of other government agents.

What elements will you find in this story?

magic ✔
curse ✔
mystery ✔
fight scenes ✔
betrayal ✔
love interest ✔

The story is fast-paced and engaging! If you are a fast reader like me, then you could read it in a day. To fully appreciate the story, I highly recommend starting with book 1. If you would like to read the entire series, it is available on Amazon Kindle. You can read it for free with an Amazon Kindle Unlimited (KU) account. That’s what I do.

Huge House Hates by Stephanie Brother

Huge House Hates by Stephanie Brother

Huge House Hates by Stephanie Brother is one wild roller coaster ride! This story is so good that I could not put it down – started and was completed in just a few hours!

The Carlton brothers prank hard and love hard and Cora could give as good as she got! Even though Tobias is the youngest (I’m guessing 21) I couldn’t help but be attracted to him the most from the beginning. But each brother brought something unique and endearing to the story and relationship. In Cora’s shoes, I’d fall in love with them, too.

Personally, I am not a fan of pranks so that was a strike for me against them. Thankfully, there were less-impulsive brothers to sort or rein in the prankster (if only by a little bit). With the Carlton brothers, it is either you love them or hate them.

The pranks get out of hand and at times are downright cruel. Eventually, a truce gets called. When a bad penny from Cora’s past shows up at their doorstep and traumatized her, their dynamics change and a relationship starts to develop.

As always, Stephanie Brother’s books are designed to make us feel good … HEA guaranteed. You can get a copy of Huge House Hates by Stephanie Brother on Amazon in both Kindle and paperback versions.

Four Fun by Stephanie Brother

Four Fun by Stephanie Brother

Four Fun by Stephanie Brother is unique in that from the very beginning, we, the readers, are told that Becca only wants sex, no relationship!

While women who know what they want and go after it is not uncommon for Stephanie’s female lead characters, Becca has to be the most determined I have ever encountered. Her encounters with these four delicious men are just amazing on so many levels. I tend to immerse myself in the characters as I read so I would be alternately highly aroused, highly amused, puzzled, etc.

As a reader, I already know from the get-go where the story is going so I must admit to being impatient for Becca to realize who the roommates are. The reveal was epic! But I must admit, Shane stole my heart on the first night. He was so tender and loving that I wanted to slap Becca on the back of her head for being so distant and insisting on a one-nighter.

Four Fun by Stephanie Brother is DEFINITELY a MUST-READ! You can get a copy of this book in Kindle or paperback formats on Amazon. Don’t forget to read the other books in the series!

The Alpha’s Saviour by Reece Barden

The Alpha’s Saviour by Reece Barden

The Alpha’s Saviour by Reece Barden is so well-written that I just couldn’t put it down! I started reading it at night and finished in the afternoon of the following day. If not for the need to sleep, I would most likely have read it straight and finished before noon.

I started reading this on Goodnovel because the premise intrigued me. I mean … how often do Alphas need to be saved? Anyone who has read a shifter/werewolf romance knows that the Alpha is the strongest werewolf there is and, often, if anyone needs saving, it is the heroine of the story. As an added twist, she is human and knows nothing about the world of shifters and fated mates.

Reading their romance unfold was such a page-turner. Cooper’s hesitation to let people know that Hayley is his mate to protect her caused her to doubt his feelings for her and the status of their relationship.

While stories between werewolves and humans are not unheard of, it is not that common. I found Reece’s take on it interesting and worth pursuing.
