Lazada’s flash sale of the Xiaomi Redmi 5A was a success selling out the available stocks today in less than 1 hour!

It is official! Xiaomi is in the Philippines and having Lazada as its exclusive Online partner. To celebrate the partnership, Xiaomi will be launching the Redmi 5A exclusively through Lazada. Dubbed as the Entry-Level Smartphone King, the Redmi 5A sports a 5″ fully-laminated HD display, a 3,000 mAh battery, a Snapdragon 425 64-bit quad-core processor, 16GB of ROM expandable to 128GB, and a 13MP rear and a 5MP front camera.
The Redmi 5A will be available in a series of flash sales starting on March 15 at 12 noon. Talking about value for money, Lazada will be offering the Redmi 5A for only P4,390.
Three (3) color variants will be available – rose gold, dark gray and gold. Stocks are limited and the next date of the flash sale won’t be available until the arrival of the next batch is determined.
Xiaomi now also has an official store in Lazada featuring some of its bestselling and top-of-the-line smartphones. This includes the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 currently priced at P25,490 and features a 5.99″ full HD display, a Snapdragon 835 and a 6GB ram.
Also available in the official store is the Redmi 4X which has a 3GB RAM and a 13MP rear shooter featuring a 0.3s fast focus at a P6,790 price tag.
Lastly, the Xiaomi Mi A1 featuring a 4GB RAM, a 12MP dual-camera shooter and a Snapdragron 625 Octa-core processor priced at P10,990 can be availed through the official store.

2018 is poised to be a good year in the Philippine job market, with both employers and talents expressing an optimistic view in relation to their hiring and job search activities, according to this year’s JobStreet.com Job Outlook Report.
The report, now on its second year, asked companies of their job market outlook in 2018. On a 7-point scale, employers averaged a 5.01 showing an increase in outlook optimism versus 2017, while candidates maintain their optimism at 4.68.
This positive sentiment among employers and candidates is backed by indications of increased hiring and job-hunting activity, as 95% of Philippine companies claim to be expanding, hiring more personnel, and maintaining their hiring rate, while 88% of talents will be either monitoring the job market or applying for jobs in 2018.
Confidence among employers is also seen in the increase in job postings, which experienced a 14% increase year-on year and is driven by growth in the top three hiring industries – call center/IT-enabled services, retail, and manufacturing.
While candidates also managed to display a more positive outlook, they expressed concerns about their job-hunting journey, saying that increased competition in their fields and diversification of skills and jobs are most likely to happen, signifying that searching and applying for good job opportunities may be more challenging to them this year.
The study also revealed another cause for candidates to be more active in searching for better opportunities this year – the benefits they most prefer are not necessarily offered to them by their present employers.
Close to 80% of candidates pointed to health and medical insurance for themselves and their dependents, but only 52% claim to enjoy it. On the other hand, 86% listed family care leave as their most desired form of time-off, but only 13% enjoy this type of leave benefit. “While more candidates see themselves to be more participative in the job market this year, companies are also foreseeing robust hiring activity, which means the competition to attract and retain top talent will be more vigorous. What will make or break employers this year is how attentive and primed they are to address the emerging needs of employees,” said JobStreet.com Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca.
