Living in a golf community offers more than having easy access to golf courses anytime, it allows residents to enjoy the sport while immersing themselves in the distinctive country club lifestyle that perfectly combines modern living and recreation.
This is the kind of life that one can have at Golf Ridge Private Estate, Filigree’s residential golf community situated beside the esteemed Mimosa Plus Golf Course at Filinvest Mimosa+, Clark Freeport Zone.
With its construction in progress, Golf Ridge gave future residents a feel of the country club lifestyle with exclusive access to the fully-furnished one-bedroom model unit at the Sales Gallery, Filinvest Mimosa+.
Design intent

The design of the model unit showcases the seamless flow of nature into the indoors.
Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), an international design firm based in the USA, the model unit showcases the seamless flow of nature from outdoors to indoors. Inspired by the concept “Growth Rings”, a cross-section of the stem of a woody plant, Norman Agleron, HBA partner explained: “We took cues from the location of the project to come up with the “Growth Rings” concept. We translated this by using different finishes that mimic the real wood and that give us a natural and warm feel of the space.”
Converging indoors and outdoors

Golf Ridge one-bedroom model unit’s open layout enables sunlight to travel and connect indoor space with the outdoors
The connection between the indoors and outdoors can also be seen in the model unit’s open layout for the kitchen, dining, and living room. The design enables sunlight to travel and connect indoor space with the outdoors allowing residents to enjoy a brighter room and a direct view of the greeneries from the golf course. Meanwhile, the furniture designs that were selected are soft and modern in detail to contrast the hard interior and architectural details of the unit.
This concept extends beyond the walls of the residential units as guests and residents can experience the coveted country club living through the luxurious amenities that are specially curated for the health and well-being of residents. Within walking distance of their homes, they can utilize the infinity pool, abundant green spaces, outdoor lounge, fitness centers, biking trails, residential lobby, private drop-off, and game room, to name a few.
Moreover, the Mimosa Plus Golf Course just beside the residential property means that residents can have total access to golf courses whenever they want to practice their swings.
Experience the country club lifestyle soon!
Through the Sales Gallery, designed to welcome and accommodate clients and their inquiries, guests can also have a peek into the other treasured offerings of Golf Ridge; foremost its masterfully-crafted generous living spaces which range from one-bedroom to three-bedroom units. Most of the units offered have their own balcony where residents can bask in the picturesque landscape view of the Mimosa Plus Golf Course or of the Mimosa Skyline.
While these topnotch features already prove that Golf Ridge is worth one’s investment, it is further strengthened by other considerations: Its strategic location in Clark, Pampanga brings stronger capital appreciation for investors as Clark is not only known to be the top destination for the growing number of golf enthusiasts in the country but is also the hotspot for business and leisure tourism.
“The unveiling of the model unit at the Sales Gallery is a significant moment for us as it allows potential buyers to not only see the beauty of Golf Ridge and its units, but they might also come to realize that the residential property is built within a very accessible and highly strategic location with land values only expected to appreciate over time,” said Daphne Sanchez, Filigree deputy head.
So, with all these amenities and features to be enjoyed, future residents can visit the newly-launched model unit and experience the distinctive country-club lifestyle offered by the Golf Ridge Private Estate.

The Arena by Cooper was a change of pace for me. For the longest time, I have been reading shifter stories with werewolves and lycans as the main characters. The Arena brings into play many different types of shifters such as lions, a Bengal tiger, a polar bear, and kestrels. The main characters, however, are Cedric (the last Lycan) and Tana (the last Elemental Fire Dragon).
The last of their kind
For many years, humans have hunted and killed supernaturals (or supes) out of fear. But something changed recently. For the past year )at least), supes have been hunted and captured. Why? For entertainment! They were imprisoned, starved, and then forced to fight to the death against other supes gladiator-style in the Arena. This is while being in their human form and unable to shift.
In the world, only 4 dragons remain, one for each element – earth, air, water, and fire. Tana is the last fire dragon. Her family chose to kill themselves rather than be captured by humans.
His pack was attacked on the day of Cedric’s ascension to Alpha of Alphas. His parents were killed while he and many of his pack members were captured and sent to the arena.
The Arena is where Tana and Cedric meet. They have been fighting in the Arena for about a year … which proves that they are very good fighters as they have not lost once. The hunters think Cedric is an Alpha werewolf. Cedric thinks Tana is an Alpha werewolf as well, and she has not taken the time to enlighten him otherwise. Cedric also thinks that Tana might be his mate but can’t be sure because of the suppressants the hunters have been given them to prevent them from shifting.
Mate!
I thought that seeing how the mate bond manifests for different kinds of shifters is interesting and it made sense that it wasn’t quite the same thing for dragons. A major difference is that simply biting or getting bitten is not enough. Dragons need to be claimed.
When Cedric and Tana finally get together and he bites her, he finally realizes that she isn’t an Alpha werewolf but something else altogether that is probably even more powerful. In his confusion he leaves her, presumably to work things out in his head. Unfortunately, Tana took this as a rejection and left with a broken heart.
This becomes the turning point for everything that happens in the rest of the story.
The Review
I have what I like to call a “cinematic brain”. It means that when I read I can picture what is happening in my head and, often, the words actually disappear and I am reading the book as if I were watching a movie. This translates to if the movie in my head is bad or subpar I figuratively walk out of the theater.
Cooper describes scenes in The Arena so vividly I find myself living in the story. I would put her in the same league as Chris Columbus and Peter Jackson if she were a film director. Yes, that is how gorgeous the scenes play in my head. While prone to not using the Oxford comma (hyuk!), Cooper skillfully manages to keep me so engaged that I find myself savoring all the pages, rather than flying through the book as I usually do. I spent more time reading, not because it was a struggle, but because I would rewind to see a scene more clearly.
I would classify The Arena by Cooper as a fantasy/adventure/romance and at that, I would say it is more fantasy than romance. Yes, steamy scenes can get pretty steamy, but possibly 90% of the story has nothing to do with sex … which I thought was masterful! This opens up the audience of this book to more than just thirsty women.
If a fantasy story with dragons, lycans, werewolves, etc. is something you are interested in, you may want to check out The Arena by Cooper on the Goodnovel app. This is a story I highly recommend and eagerly await on Amazon.

The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) and GCash, the leading mobile wallet in the country, remind the public to be careful against so-called lottery scams.
“The modus operandi of these scams begins with victims receiving notices of winning a grand prize for a competition, lottery, or sweepstakes. Scammers will send these announcements through email, phone calls, text messages, or social media. To claim the prize, victims are asked to pay for insurance, taxes, bank fees, and courier charges. As if that wasn’t enough, the scammers also request personal financial information to verify the victim’s identity, which they exploit to initiate an account takeover,” said PNP-ACG Spokesperson, PCapt Michelle Sabino.
To avoid these scams, the PNP-ACG and GCash are providing valuable tips to the public.
- It is important to carefully inspect any envelopes received from sweepstakes mailers, paying close attention to the details.
- Never divulge personal information to individuals who solicit it through email, SMS, or phone calls claiming that you have won a prize.
- Always take the time to read and understand the fine print in lottery or sweepstakes forms, ensuring you are aware of important information such as the start and end dates, methods of participation, and any legal disclaimers.
“By following these precautions, you can safeguard yourself against potential scammers and cybercriminals,” Sabino explained.
GCash reiterates its warning to users to never share their MPIN or OTP with anyone and to avoid clicking unknown links from websites, emails, or messaging apps.
For assistance, users can contact the PNP-ACG through their hotlines at (02) 8414-1560 or 0998-598-8116, or via email at ac*@*****ov.ph.

Thirsty can mean two things. It could either mean you want to drink or it could mean you are looking for something more of a sexual nature. Whichever one it is there is this place that answers those needs in a tongue-in-cheek manner.
I am writing this article right now because I encountered this reel on Instagram (on the right) that just had me in stitches. I suppose it helps that I am mostly open-minded which is why I found it funny, not offensive.
It made me think of Andre, a character in the story Hybrid Alpha by Bryant who, when he was still unmated, was known for his sexcapades with shifters and humans alike. He is openly and unapologetically gay and I just know that Turrisi Bar would be a place he would go to for giggles. Also, Andre lives in Sicily so it surely isn’t that far from where the Incubi pack is located.
You know what? I’ve thought about it and, yes, I am convinced that Andre is a regular of Turrisi Bar, lol!
Turrisi Bar is in Sicily
Turrisi Bar or Bar Turrisi is an establishment in Castelmola, Sicily that has been around since 1947 and, yes, phalluses are a thing there. You will see it in the statuary, paintings, door handles, furniture and fixtures, some of the wine bottles, and let us not forget the faucets.
That faucet in the video was interesting, I must admit. Not that it is shaped like a phallus but that it needs to be handled like an actual penis to make the water come out! I don’t want to explain the how or why for the uninformed but suffice it to say, this is definitely not a place we would want to bring our “innocent” friends if we want to preserve their innocence or naivete.
To be clear, though, it is a faucet so there better not be anyone attempting to mount it. That would just break the sink!
What is the story behind all the phalluses in Turrisi Bar?
I went to the website (which is in Italian) I used Google Translate to read what it says on the page called “The Phalluses” found within “The Bar” main link with some minor tweaks from me. Note, on the page there are paintings on the side that support the text I copied and pasted below. Here is an excerpt of what it says:
It was these places that hosted the first gay communities under the Mediterranean sun, in the last decades of the nineteenth century: fragile, restless, and refined offspring of illustrious and wealthy families, who cradled here the “existential torments of an already decadent Europe”, real and presumed intellectuals, darkened in the salons of London, Paris, Berlin, who in the small “oasis” of Sicily indulged in all kinds of extravagance, unbridledness and freedom.
The idea of the phallus certainly initially aroused great dismay, especially for the parish priest, but in reality, it is a symbol by no means vulgar, it is also found in the culture of the Greeks, ancient colonizers of this land. It is the god Priapus who represented fertility, freedom, luck, life, and beauty in ancient Greece. These ideals, which have always hovered in the air of this hot and arid land, find a well-defined location in this bar, which together with the other choreographic elements, such as Sicilian carts, puppets, cart keys, etc. tries to synthesize part of Sicilian culture.
The phallus is also a symbol that in ancient times represented the antidote against the evil eye, whose effectiveness certainly cannot be denied. Today this place continues to carry on what history has left, without neglecting the needs of the present.
Turrisi offers more
Having a phallic-themed establishment may not be unique in itself but it is certainly different a good way to start a conversation and drum up interest not only in the bar but also in the town where it is located. They even have a B&B called Casa Turrisi where travelers can stay and appreciate the beauty of Castelmola.

Phallic bottle wines
If you want to bring home a little bit of Turrisi Bar with you they also have an online store called Vino Mandorla. I don’t know if their wines are expensive or not but the Phallic Shot that contains 3 cl costs €7, 10 cl Phallic bottle costs €12, and the 50 cl bottle is €25.
When I converted that to Philippine Peso I fell out of my seat. The wines are supposed to be good but I think we are mostly paying for the uniqueness of the bottle. As a matter of fact, we COULD purchase an empty phallic shot bottle for €3.
A must-see in Sicily
You can be sure that if I ever find my way to Sicily, Turrisi Bar will be one of my stops. I have to try one of those faucets for myself, lol!

Record-Breaking Store Openings. The Jollibee Group opened 23 stores of Burger King in 2022, the highest number of store openings in a single year for Burger King in the Philippines.
The Jollibee Group is focused on strengthening the performance of its foreign franchised brands in the Philippines as part of its growth plans.
“We aim to become the leading market developer of foreign restaurant brands in the country. By leveraging our brand portfolio to provide diverse offerings for various market segments at different price points, and strategically expanding our store network, Burger King, Yoshinoya, and Panda Express are expected to continuously contribute to the sustainable growth of our domestic business,” said Joseph Tanbuntiong, Jollibee Group Country Head for Philippine Business.
Store Openings
As part of the company’s expansion efforts in 2022, Burger King opened 23 stores, which is the highest number of store openings in a year. It also opened its 125th milestone store in 2022 and five Bike ‘n Dine stores located in Shaw Wack-Wack San Juan; Visayas Ave. Quezon City; Vermosa in Imus, Cavite; Alabang-West in Muntinlupa; and Carmona Cavite.
In 2022, the Jollibee Group also relaunched Japan’s world-famous Beef Bowl Chain, Yoshinoya. This is its first-ever Japanese food chain, making it a strong addition to the foreign franchised brands currently operated by the company. Yoshinoya serves a beefed-up menu in a newly redesigned contemporary and casual Japanese space headlined by their world-famous gyudon or beef bowl.

Successful Relaunch. The Jollibee Group successfully relaunched Yoshinoya in the Philippines with a refreshed store design and menu offering.
Last year, Yoshinoya opened four stores and renovated three existing stores. The Jollibee Group formed a 50-50 joint venture with YIPI—the Philippine subsidiary of Asia Yoshinoya International Sdn. Bhd. and Yoshinoya Holdings Co. Ltd. in June 2021. The said partnership established Yoshinoya Jollibee Foods, Inc., which operates the Yoshinoya stores in the country and plans to expand Yoshinoya’s store network to 50 stores in the long term.
Meanwhile, Panda Express opened ten stores last year, five of which were the first in its host cities—Robinsons Place Ermita in Manila, SM Southmall in Las Piñas, Betterliving in Parañaque, Shell SLT in Muntinlupa, and Greenhills in San Juan. In February 2023, Panda Express opened its first drive-thru restaurant in Asia with the launch of its Sumulong Highway branch. This new location in Marikina City also marks Panda Restaurant Group’s 100th international restaurant. Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. (PRG) and the Jollibee Group formed JBPX Foods, Inc., a joint venture in 2019 to bring the world’s largest American Chinese dining concept to the Philippines.
re
Milestone Opening. The first drive-thru store of Panda Express in Asia was opened by the Jollibee Group in Marikina City. This also marks the brand’s 100th international branch.
Exciting Product Offerings
The Jollibee Group’s thrust with its foreign franchised brands is to bring an authentic experience to Filipinos. Apart from this, the Jollibee Group also provides menu offerings that are either unique to the Philippine market or among the best performing for these franchised brands in the region and the world.
On top of its iconic entree, the Original Orange Chicken®, Panda Express introduced Kung Pao Fish last year for the season of Lent. Its Beef Broccoli and Honey Walnut Shrimp are also among the best-selling dishes in the region. Meanwhile, Yoshinoya—with its signature beef bowl—also offered dishes that Filipino foodies can enjoy such as Tempura, Karaage, and desserts like Mochi Matcha Ice Cream and Coffee Jelly.
Burger King Philippines was also acknowledged as having one of the best-in-class launches in Asia for its new product Chicken King. Other exciting new products that guests enjoyed for a limited time last year were Cheese Bites, Plant-Based X-tra Long Chicken, Spicy Chicken King, Spicy Chicken Nuggets, and Truffle Whopper.
For this year, the Jollibee Group is set to open more stores for Burger King, Yoshinoya, and Panda Express. These new store openings form part of the company’s goal to become one of the top five restaurant companies in the world.
“Our thrust is to bring the original experience of these popular brands to the Filipino people. I am confident that with the success of our foreign franchised brands, and with the continued support of their fans, Jollibee Group will succeed in achieving its long-term growth plans,” Tanbuntiong added.

Lately, Alpha’s Hidden Obsession by Misha K keeps getting recommended to me when I open iReader so I thought, “Sure, let’s give it a try”. From the title, I knew it had to do with shifters, werewolves specifically, and that there was an obsessed alpha in it.
The main character in this story is Poppy who has been tortured for years by her Alpha grandfather because she was wolfless. She scented her mate and when she followed the scent it led her to Nash, an Alpha heir for another pack. Unfortunately, he was in the middle of a sexual encounter with Cynthia at the time and he decides to reject her in favor of Cynthia, his chosen mate.
Poppy is then sent to Umbra Academy where she fears she will be killed as it has the reputation of being a tough/savage school where few survive. There she meets Damon, the biggest baddest Alpha in the school.
Damon is betrothed to Monica and yet for some inexplicable reason, he finds himself drawn to Poppy. It takes him a while but he realizes that she is his mate and he does everything he can to resist.
Interestingly, while Poppy felt the mate bond with Nash, she could not even sense it with Damon. Why? She is, however, extremely attracted to him but fighting it herself. As far as she was concerned, Damon was bad news.
Story development and character development are good. It’s not a sex romp or bogged down with so many minutiae. However, the book does need editing as there are too many times when the wrong word (homonym) is used or an incorrect turn of phrase/idiomatic expression was written in.
The most glaring example is when the author says that Poppy is “in heats” or “her heats”. I thought it was a typo at first but since she is consistent in using that term it tells me that the author thinks that “in heats” is the correct term.
It isn’t. A she-wolf goes into HEAT (singular) or she is IN HEAT.
That being said, I am 37% into the story and it is going well. I am loving how possessive Damon is being and how he actually came out and told her how he feels for her. Now that Nash is back in the picture, I am interested to find out how it will play out. It’s good enough that I am buying coins just so I can read the whole book.
I think Alpha’s Hidden Obsession by Misha K is good enough to publish … just get a copy editor first to clean it up. You can find this jewel of a story on the iReader app.

I read so many books on at least four reading apps, not counting Amazon Kindle and ARCs, that I didn’t think I would add another app to my reading roster. But then, this story kept appearing in my feed and on targeted ads, So one day I decided to (finally!) succumb and read the first chapter.
Reading that first chapter was a big mistake because King of the Underworld by RJ Kane is so well written that I am addicted and can’t stop reading! Here’s a clear sign that I think it is good … there are 514 chapter and I am reading it. That is 514 chapters of ONE BOOK, not a series of stories pulled together into one book.
Anyone who knows me or has read my previous reviews knows I avoid stories this long like the plague. This is usually because, from my experience, the stories that are that long (or longer) as usually written by juvenile authors who have terrible grammar which often means that English is not their first language. Yes, I know it is a generalization, but I have found it to be true in most cases.
So you can just imagine my surprise when I start King of the Underworld by RJ Kane to find not only minimal errors but an actual engaging story. I am only 60 chapters in but every chapter has been a joy to read. Persephone, the female main character, is someone I would love to befriend. Her personality is so sunny that I couldn’t help but smile. How she interacted with Adrik, the male main character, and his 5 personal bodyguards was amazing!
No, it is not a reverse harem … at least it doesn’t seem like it is 60 chapters in. Her relationship with the bodyguards is more like that of siblings. In contrast, with Adrik, from the get-go, we know it is a love match. So far it seems to be going well. My main concern as I read is, will the author be able to sustain this level of writing for 514 chapters? I’m willing to read on to find out.
So far there is no supernatural element yet but we will wait and see. King of the Underworld by RJ Kane can be found on the Anystories app. I think you’ll enjoy it, too. 🙂
