So you’ve got your festive outfit set and the fancy gift wrapped for your “monito” or “monita”. All that’s left undone is a party season-perfect hairstyle.

The fresh out of the shower look can be seductive yet temporary. Blame it to tropical climate, it can spoil your appearance, besides making you feel sweaty and stale. The heat and humidity brought about by extreme weather condition, likewise, dries out the locks easily and make it more fragile.
Adding damage to your delicate strands are the chemical contents of various products on hand. From shampoo to conditioner and hair treatment, down to styling goods to groom it to your liking, their harsh synthetic materials jeopardize the natural oil and luster of your mane.
Because you are what you eat, the fate of your crowning glory is in the plate. Your diet must have the correct balance of vitamins and minerals to supply hair with all that it needs to become shiny and strong. So don’t overindulge, especially this time of the year when gastronomic feasts are spread almost everywhere you go. Be careful of what you take in, thinking that it’s also what you feed your ‘do.
Even stress can wear off the beauty and health of the tress. And that’s exactly what you should avoid this Yuletide season. Never put pressure on yourself just to please everyone. Just take it easy, let your hair down and party all night long.

MANILA, Philippines – Southeast Asia’s leading eCommerce company, Lazada Group, wrapped up its month-long Online Revolution campaign by crushing the region’s online sales record. The 12.12 final sale rang in USD 250 million in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), more than doubling last year’s sale. It also shattered the 11.11 record of USD 123 million, set only a month ago.
The massive sales volume is a clear sign that the month-long Online Revolution campaign, on its 6th year, is Southeast Asia’s biggest shopping phenomenon that has grabbed the attention of millions of consumers and provided them unprecedented access to products they want, love and need.
Lazada customers came from all over Southeast Asia – from big cities like Bangkok and Jakarta to far-flung locations like Alabel in the Philippines, Jayapura in Papua Indonesia and Điện Biên province in Vietnam. Due to the spikes in volume, Lazada had to charter flights to Indonesia and Thailand to deliver goods ordered from international merchants. About 50,000 local marketplace sellers also saw massive sales increases.
Lazada constantly pushes the limits to better serve its customers and sellers to win in the region’s crowded eCommerce industry. To feature unique products and offers, it has entered into several exclusive partnerships with world-renowned brands like Apple and Unilever.
Furthermore, through the recently launched Taobao Collection service, it is offering a curated selection of international fashion, tech and lifestyle items. By investing heavily in its fulfillment operations, including warehouses and delivery hubs across the region, the company is continuously improving the shopping experience by reducing delivery lead times.
Supported by the expertise of Alibaba, Lazada is also deploying cutting-edge technology solutions, that range from search and personalization to logistics optimization, to ultimately benefit both customers and sellers on the platform.
Filipinos Revolutionize Digital
Filipinos have embraced the convenience of shopping online this holiday season. Close to two hundred thousand Online Revolution parcels coming from both brands and merchants get delivered from the Lazada sorting center daily. Cities such as Negros Oriental, Benguet and Laguna recorded the most number of items ordered during the campaign.
Interesting to note that aside from the usual tangible buys, majority of customers bought their prepaid mobile load on Lazada – a clear indicator that Filipinos are more comfortable buying almost anything beyond the realms of the physical store.
The holiday rush and last minute shopping also existed online. Items ordered broke records during the last day of the sale. Over 140,000 fashion items, over 15,000 lipsticks, and over 12,000 automotive gift items were ordered in just one day. Christmas trees of different sizes and home decorations were also top picks of customers.
“Our record-breaking performance during our Online Revolution campaign is a testament to the hard work our team has put in, but also that of our sellers, brands, logistic providers, and other business partners, over the last 6 years” said Lazada Group Chief Executive Officer, Max Bittner. “The Online Revolution has just begun and it will continue to benefit consumers as well as the entire eCommerce ecosystem” he added.
About Lazada Online Revolution
Online Revolution is the biggest shopping event in Southeast Asia. It was started on 12 December 2012 (12.12) to introduce consumers to the convenience and value of shopping online, sparking a ‘shopping frenzy’ that has grown it into a highly-anticipated annual event.
Every year, more and more consumers from capital cities to remote villages shop from a wide range of deals from international and local brands previously not available to them. Last year, shoppers ordered two million items in just the first day of the event.
This year, the highlights of Online Revolution will be on 11.11 (11 November) and 12.12 (12 December). Themed ‘Shop the Universe’, shoppers in six countries can look forward to millions of products from around the world – from branded cosmetics, apparel and fashion accessories, to TVs and other nifty electronics, household essentials and even pet food – at ‘out-of-this-world’ prices.

It’s the season of gift giving, and one of the most grueling parts of the holidays has finally come upon us – choosing just what to buy for our loved ones! While the amount we spend on someone shouldn’t reflect how we feel about them, it’s still important to be able to budget our spending on gifts.
Along these lines, we’ve prepared some great gift ideas for your loved ones that we’ve laid out into two popular budget ranges. Check them out and get ready for Christmas!
Under Php2500
Good earphones
The gift of high-quality music is precious. So do a little research and find a pair of great earphones that’s within budget for your music-loving friends.
Fountain pen
Once you’ve tried a fountain pen, you’ll never want to go back. Fountain pens are characterized by an incredible smoothness in the way they write, and will last forever if you take care of them.
You can get a really great fountain pen for Php1000-1500 – throw in a bottle of ink for about Php300-500 and you’re still under the budget!
If you buy it at Lazada you can get it for even less than P1,000. 🙂
Prepaid healthcare – Php2199/1599
They say that gifts are a way of showing someone that you care about them. You can translate that thoughtfulness into literal care with the MyMaxicare LITE prepaid healthcard!
For a one-time payment of Php2199, the recipient of this gift can get up to Php25,000 coverage for any of 8 common diseases – dengue, chikungunya, malaria, typhoid and paratyphoid, cholera, gastroenteritis, leptospirosis, and pneumonia – valid for 1 year, and for patients between ages 2 and 60 years old.
Cardholders are covered for room and board, lab tests, professional fees and more, and even get additional discounts at select health services. You can also opt for a Php1599 card that has all of these benefits, though excluding access to major hospitals.
Under Php1000
Power bank
A good power bank with a thin and light profile but a big capacity like 5000 or 10000mAh will help your loved ones stay in touch with you – or at least allow them to play a few more rounds of Candy Crush.
Dashcam
These little dashboard-mounted cameras are soon going to be an essential part of driving around the slow and furious streets of the Philippines. They’re an amazing gift for anyone who drives regularly.
Prepaid healthcare – Php549/749
Even at this lower price range, you can find great prepaid healthcare options. Maxicare’s EReady prepaid health card provides up to Php15,000 coverage on emergency medical conditions, inclusive of ER fees, dressings, casts, and sutures, IV fluids and blood products, and more.
It’s valid for up to 1 year from the activation date, and cardholders are eligible if they are between the ages of 15 days old and 65 years old. EReady can be purchased for a one-time payment of Php749 for access to major hospitals, and Php549 without this access.
