What a difference 5 years make! Whereas earlier this decade, we had to define what OLED technology is (Organic Light Emitting Diodes), now, OLED TV is the gold standard in viewing. It is certainly a vast improvement over LED TV in giving us more realistic experiences. Thanks to OLED’s deep blacks, we can enjoy more vibrant colors and infinite contrast than ever before! Plus, it has exceptional picture quality at wide viewing angles.
How has the TV transformed as we know it? LG first unveiled the OLED TV at the penultimate consumer fair, International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012, the OLED TV was cited as CNET’s Best of CES award for better picture quality.
Let’s look back at how LG has made our TV viewing experience better as the years have passed.
In 2013
LG launched the first OLED TV, that also benefits from the WRGB technology pixel structure resulting in life-like colors. It was a full HD TV with a clear film speaker and crystal stand. Already worlds away from the TVs of the previous millennia.
In 2014
LG’s 77-inch Ultra HD Curved OLED TV won the prized Best of Innovations at the 2014 CES Innovations Awards. It combines LG’s WRGB OLED technology and Ultra HD screen resolution for a whole new level of picture quality and viewer immersion.
In 2015
LG won the 2015 CES Innovation Awards for its 4K Ultra HD OLED TVs that had better resolution, with clear and sharp images and a large spectrum of more natural, lifelike colors on the screen. LG’s partnership with audio expert Harman/Kardon resulted in deep, rich sound.
In 2016
LG’s Ultra HD 4K OLED TVs benefit from the addition of HDR Pro for brighter, bolder and more immersive pictures. We also got screens that measured just 2.57 millimeters, called “Picture-On-Glass.” Aside from 4k HDR technology, we got the latest Dolby Vision, that makes images more crisp.
This year (2017)
LG’s flagship 77-inch “wallpaper” OLED TV, the “Picture-on-Wall” OLED —measuring just 5.8 mm — won the 2017 CES Best of Innovation Award. Even more exciting, LG OLED TVs now support more HDR formats — aside from Dolby Vision, they also support HDR10 and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma). To complete the experience, LG TVs now feature Dolby Atmos, for optimal, movie-theatre surround sound.
LG TVs have treated us to better quality every year by giving us realistic and vivid images from any and every angle, as well as surround sound. We daresay, everything seems larger than life with an LG TV. No wonder it has been called Best in Class.
We’ve heard that LG’s product development team continually works to deliver better technology and quality, so we can’t wait for what they’ll come up with next. In the meantime, let’s sit back, relax and enjoy the latest from LG.

The newest addition to the company’s line of user-centric, innovative, and eco-friendly home appliances, the LG InstaView Door-in-DoorTM is sure to transform the way users interact with refrigerators.
While conventional refrigerators often sport ordinary doors with ice dispensers, LG’s InstaView Door-in-DoorTM (DID) stands out for its 33-inch sleek black glass panel and its revolutionary knock-on feature which illuminates the panel when knocked on twice.
This allows users to see inside the easy-access compartment without having to open the door and waste cold air. This distinct feature of the InstaView DID reduces cold air loss by up to 41 percent and hence keeps food and drinks fresher for longer.
Apart from the knock-on feature, the InstaView DID features a spacious compartment that allows users to easily store and access frequently consumed snacks and beverages.
The InstaView DID can be easily installed anywhere in the home with LG’s high-grade non-plumbing water and metallic ice dispensing system. The streamlined large capacity water tank is located in the refrigerator’s main compartment, making it easy for users to place water directly in the tank.
The unit also employs the door-mounted SpaceplusTM Ice System that produce ready-to-use ice, a Full Wine Rack, and a Utility Box which keeps small food items such as cheese, deli, and other products fresh.
Inside, the InstaView Door-in-DoorTM is equipped with Hygiene Fresh+TM that eliminates potentially contaminated air, unpleasant odors and 99.999 percent of bacteria.
In the fresh food compartment, the Moist Balance CrisperTM maintains peak moisture levels while the innovative FRESH BalancerTM optimizes humidity by sealing the vegetable box. Users are guaranteed with clean and fresh fruits and vegetables with the simple click of a switch.
The unit is fully compatible with LG’s SmartThinQTM that lets you set the refrigerator temperature, control Express Freeze and Hygiene Fresh+TM operations, and diagnose your unit – all through the use of your smart phone – even when you’re far from home.
The InstaView Door-in-DoorTM is powered by the unique Inverter Linear Compressor, an efficient engineering mechanism that provides up to 32 percent lower energy consumption and 25 percent less noise, all while providing greater reliability and durability. It can operate without complications for up to 20 years as reviewed by the German institute, VDE, making the InstaView Door-in-DoorTM a truly future-proof product.
Behind LG Electronics’ drive for innovation is its persistent and continued commitment to sustainability as a core value. With its Inverter Linear Compressor, Door-in-Door feature, Moist Balance CrisperTM and Fresh BalancerTM, the InstaView Door-in-DoorTM is undeniably an admirable addition to LG Electronics’ line of home appliances that save energy, reduce ecological footprints, and consequently deliver a positive environmental impact.

High priced items could be appliances you need at home or gadgets you need for work or school. Or it may even be a gadget you’ve wanted for a long time. As Christmas fast approaches we find ourselves looking longingly at those high priced items at the store windows.
If you have the cash or if you have a credit card (with space, of course) then it isn’t a problem. For card holders most card companies even have schemes at this time of year where not only can they pay in installment but they also have something called deferred payment … this means that they are not required to pay anything for these purchases until 2 to 3 months from date of purchase.
However, studies have shown that less than 10% of the buying public in the Philippines own credit cards. So how will the remaining 90+% be able to afford these high priced items then?
Get those high priced items with Home Credit
I’m sure as you’ve walked around appliance and gadget stores like SM Department Store, Robinson’s Appliance Center, Samsung Store, etc. you would have seen signs saying “buy on credit without a credit card, 30 minute approval” or words to that effect. Chances are, this was Home Credit.
Home Credit allows you to purchase up to three (3) items in one transaction. What do they ask for? Just a government ID for starters. Then a down payment – in the bloggers conference held last November we were told that the minimum deposit is 20% of the cost of the items to purchase but when I went to two appliance stores they both told me that they require 30% down payment.
Example, assuming that the item is 10,000: P10,000 x 30% = P3,000 is your down payment.
How do we pay?
You get to choose your payment scheme. Usually it would be 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, or 24 months. Keep in mind that the shorter the payment period, the better. If nothing else, it means you can get a loan sooner if you choose a shorter number of terms. 🙂
Let’s say you decided to get the 6 month payment scheme. That means your payments will look like this:
- P3,300
- P1,400
- P1,400
- P1,400
- P1,400
- P1,400
Do they have a processing fee?
Home Credit shares a processing fee of 3% of the total purchase cost. I don’t think the store adds on more than that but do let me know if they do so I can update this post.
Cash is, of course, king, but sometimes we need a little help and Home Credit has our back. Bring home that high priced item you’ve always wanted for yourself and for your loved ones. Use Home Credit and make it a very Merry Christmas for one and all.
ZERO PERCENT INTEREST – that is their goal. And as you can see in the breakdown, P1,400 a month is no longer heavy on the budget … especially if it means you can finally get that TV for dad or that oven for mom or that phone you’ve always wanted.
Think about it. All you are paying for is the cost of the item divided into the number of payments you chose + 3% processing fee. That’s it! Next question would be … where d you make payments? Payments can be made at any Bayad Center branch. Easy peasy!
